ahem, b56, when the green cross hair goes over the spot u wanna bomb, just dropp bombs or rkt. it's like 40% less accurate then the calibration mode tho for high altidude bombing. for dive bombers like stuka,val, and SBD u dun even need the cross hair, just aim ur nose over target and drop

Titanic, I might suggest that you learn a little before you  attempt to help anybody here. Just about everything you post about is wrong buddy.

Maybe a little light reading and a stop in the TA might be in order?

Actually, the green crosshair is 100% accurate, as it is the lead computed bombsight, that will just display where the bombs will fall to.

This LCBS isnt available in most arenas though, so calibration of the bombsight is necessary for an on-spot drop. If the speed and altitude the bombsight was calibrated at match the drop speed and alt, it is a very accurate sight.

In Brief, you line up on the target a long way out level off and get the speed nice and steady. Then calibrate the bombsite by going to bomb aimers position (F6) Hit the U key to enter calibration mode, then use your joystick to hold the black crosshair on the same spot (any spot on the ground will do) Hit the Y key and hold it down for about 15 seconds (2 seconds minimum) then release the Y key and now you can let the cross hair move off the spot! - Enter U again and you have calibrated for your present speed and altitude. As the target comes up open the bomb doors (O) and when the black cross hair is over a target hit the B key to drop bombs. Small adjustments to heading are corrected using the joystick.

Calibration and aiming is easier if you zoom in on your views.

You can calibrate with the bomb doors open and it may improve accuracy due to any drag they cause and possible speed change.
