I am a newbie on my 2 week trial (but will probably sign up as I am having a blast).
My only problem (apart from my online flying skills) is that when I press the PTT for the first time I get a two or three second freeze. Because of this I make sure I press the transmit button well before entering a fight. After the initial freeze it works just fine for a while, but if I fly into a different area without transmitting for a while then the freeze happens again. Any ideas?
-
If you go to Start>Run and type in: dxdiag
then press the: Save All Information
button, it will help the technical team here get a better idea of what the problem may be. Don't forget to post the information in that file here.
-
Thanks for the info. The DXDiag report is too big for a single post though. Any particular areas that are needed?
-
About the first third of the report is enough.
-
ok thanks. Here is the first third:

Turn the sound hardware accelleration down to Standard (3/4).
I had a similar problem a while back, and it turned out to be the "use wave in" settings: Clipboard (ESC) > OPTIONS > PREFERENCES > Voice.
Hope this helps.
-
I'll give it a try... thanks.
-
After looking at key mapping, it seems that F12 is the keypress for transmit to those in close proximity. F12 is also the default key to reset the view on my Track IR. Maybe this is the conflict? I have a button on my X52 throttle set to perform the transmit function, so I am not sure if this is a factor.
-
Shouldnt be, but could be... who knows with those devilish machines (computers)....
Can you remap the TIR function?
If not, id remap the F12 key in AH to anyway, since youll be transmitting every time you reset your TIR. The keyboard function of the F12 doesnt get disabled with the mapping of the function to the stick.
-
Problem seems to be solved (not sure if it was the sound hardware acceleration or the F12 key being unmapped. Anyway, smooth as silk now. Thanks for the help!
