I have been reading alot on the bbs' lately, and I've noticed a trend that quite frankly sucks.
Anytime anyone has a problem (no matter what it is) it is always posted as being HiTech's fault, or HTC. Granted, some of the problems are an HTC issue, but half of them are just rants to get people riled up at "the man"
Just a guess here, but I don't think that HTC has any desire to be "the man", or the bad guy.
These complaints range from tyraids about getting muted to people blaming HTC for tech issues becuase they can't work their own computer properly.
IMHO, we need to give these folks a break! Look at the ammount of work that they have to put into making this game what it is, and then look at the number of people that they have doing it. I don't think that I've ever seen an issue posted on these forums that wasn't addressed fairly quickly, and yet people still want to complain.
WHY?
Does it serve a purpose?
Does it get problems resolved more quickly?
It's a good thing that I'm not in charge, because I think that when I came across some of these posts, I would "walk" right by them. Why help someone who wants to do nothing more than make me and my company out to be the bad guy all of the time.
We are just lucky that HTC has not taken this stance YET.
How impossible of a job it must be to try to please 5000+ people with everything you do, and every change you make.
Next time you want to get on here and complain, take a second and think of the countless hours of fun you have gotten due to the fact that these guys (and gals) devote their professional lives to providing that enjoyment, and relax a little bit.
Cut them some freaking slack!!!!!

I totaly Agree. I havent agreed with all of HT's changes, but he is an amazing guy. I certainly would never think of being able to create a game like this!

Agreed Helrazr1! No I don't agree with eveything that is done in and to the game, but 2 things do exist for certain.
1. It is a game and it belongs to HT.
2. I am having a blast flying around and blowing s*** up!
Oh! and before someone does, if somone does make a comment about my very poor point standing.......Sorry, I ain't into it for the points.

On the third Tuesday of the even months I blame Pyro instead of hitech just to shake things up. But only if the date is odd.
Otherwise it's hitech.

I look at it like this- Take the highest ranked player you see during prime time, multiply his rank by $14.99, what you get is the gross profit for HTC in a 1 MONTH period(GA & be generous & subtract 10% for players on 2week free trail). Subtract the overhead, including salaries of what....... 4-5 employees? What you get is PLENTY of compensation to deal with trivial complaints and assist customers with technical issues.

LOL Business is listen to customers taking some things in and others roll off back. HItech can defend himself, and customers do have right to ask questions. LOL what business do you own where customer doesn't have rights to complain. You own the cable company? I had 16 locations sign company,complaints about million of them. most water off back but then some have true grips. If one of my customers belittled another customer for complaining, I'd have problem with first guy not the guy complaining. As businessman I know complaints come more. than wtg's You did well until answering him by belittleing a HTC customer. My book your wrong and i bet in most peoples mind.

You are absolutely entitled to your opinion, and I can respect it. I'm not talking about valid gripes here, I'm talking about flat out whining. It's out of control. When mods and admins have to spend their weekend going through and editing posts, it's......well, rediculous to say the least.
As for Atoon's post up there, I will give as much respect as is earned. If he would have disagreed with me in a positive manor, I would have responded in a positive manor. It's all about respect, don't disrespect me, and then get upset when it is handed back. You, on the other hand, didn't do that, and maybe much of this doesn't apply to you. If it in fact does not, then I apologize to you sir for any offense you may have taken to my post!

Yes there are things I would like changed and added / removed from AH, but I keep comming back, so the HTC gang must be doing somthing right....

Helraiser- you seem to be quite excited about my response- so much that you have clearly overlooked the word "OVERHEAD", or perhaps you simply lack knowledge of the definition. I can help! Overhead is a single word that completely covers all the things you took the time to type. With your VAST business knowledge I would have thought perhaps you might posess the definition of the word "overhead". None the less- I'm glad to be of service!

IMHO, HTC does a fabulous job with respect towards meeting the the needs of their' customers. If you can point me in the direction of a better WW2 combat air sim, let me know.
As for your Homer Simpson analysis of HTC's P&L Statement...you pretty much established your assessment not unlike an analysis Homer would profound upon. :D

HTC is making money hand over fist putting this game out, sure its not always easy, but they are very well compensated for their time.
Any of you geniuses actually do the math? $14.95 x 5000= $74,750.00 per month. I guess you guys are right, we should feel sorry for HTC staff, they really have it rough.......
I think HTC does a great job for the most part, but I dont feel sorry for em when they have upset clients. They just makin too much money to get any sympathy from me.

Now that you have surmised their gross monthly income ... please give us the line item detail of the HTC overhead so we can really see what HT and Crew bring home a month.

we all know I dont have access to that information, but cmon, you know its not anywhere near the gross profit. And dont take me wrong, I'm glad they doing well. It's the American Dream to make lots of money doing somthing you love. Kudos to the whole staff all around for their success! It's a fun game, and I know they doin their best to keep it that way.

Anyway, you missed the point entirely!
Go back up top and re-read my entire first post. It's not about having an upset customer. It is about the fact that when people have problems, they feel that instead of sending an email to HTC, it's ok to get on the forums and whine and publicly berade them instead. All I'm saying, is that a little courtesy might be in order when dealing with issues instead of publicly making HTC out to be this group of bad people, when all that they're trying to do is to make things better for everyone.

In the grand scheme, HTC has a very cool game.
But there is the big picture...then there are the pixels that compose the big picture.
Sometimes pixels can be missing or distorted.
Annoying? Yes.
Are they usually noticeable?
Only to the trained and or trained eye. ;)

HTC is like any other bussiness out there, there goal is to make money if that did'nt happen we all would'nt be playing it right now agreed?
BUT customer service is what makes companies a sucess or a failure, all they can do is provide the best customer service they can, sure your going to have people that complain and a good company should listen to the complaints and deal with them as best they can.
Like the old saying goes you can't please all the people all the time, you want to talk about lack of customer service lets talk about the goverment lol

Helrazer- show me in this post where you compare posting rants & raves on BBS to writing an email to HTC, I just cant find it. (For the record I have had MANY issues get overlooked by HTC on the BBS, and not a single one get overlooked when I write an Email to techsupport.)
Dale- I never asked how much you make, and if you don't want people being able to figure out yer gross monthly, I suggest you utilize a different ranking system.
Its Helrazers opinion that you guys deserve a break, Its my opinion that you get yer break every payday.

There are over 3000 posts on the collision model and ramming....
I guess that after a while, the HTC gang might just get sick of answering the same questions over and over again.

This is the only online game I can play on dial up from OZ and get a fair and usually non-warpy game.
If we have a problem with the arena its fix promptly.
If a user cant figure out how to do somthing, Skuzzy assists far more than most companies I know would. and is always polite and incredably proficient. (would love to see some stats on just how many things are user error)
I had a hassel with my CC and my sub was not paid, then a second hassel getting it sorted. it was a pleasure to deal with Carrie who was patient and polite whilst sorting it out
I think this fact shows that the HTC gang supply and support a quality product.
I also think that if the fact they do this for a measly 14.95 a month is pretty cool.
I dont think it means they should have to put up with crap
HT, Pyro, Sudz, Superfly, Skuzzy, Carrie, Waffle and Natedog (hope i did not miss anyone :) )

It must be nice to work at a job doing something YOU YOURSELF like, and so many other people like- some to the point of addiction- and be able to look at the pitiful complaints that you see on these boards. We all like this game, that's why we're here. I envy HITECH, despite what the occassional twit posts.

OK, obviously you didn't read my last post. I will proceed to dumb it down even more for you. What I said (paraphrased) is that it's much more productive to send an email to HTC rather than getting on the BBS' to rant about........whatever your issue is. My point is very simple: Stop crying on the BBS' if you have an issue, and trying to make the HTC staff look bad, and send them a private email stating your issue.
Now, that said, I'm done with this thread. I find it absolutely rediculous that I can put up a post trying to, in essence, praise the folks that put in all of the work so that we may reap the benefits, only to have people like you turn it into a fight about whether they deserve a break now and again.
I hope, for your sake, that you either find the error in your line of thinking, or just stop posting. You truely are making yourself look worse with every post!
BTW, Mussie, you got it right sir. I second all of the well deserved Salutes that you insightfully posted, and a big to you too!

No offense, but your first post looks like a whine about whiners.
You'd have more success with simple "Thank you HTC for all your work on wonderful game, please ignore all the whiners, they're just loud minority" and add maybe your reasons why you think so.
Now, on the business side, you'll always receive more complaints then praise. It's just how it works.

It has been my experience that ones who even make the stupid bellybutton remarks that (insert proper handle here so skuzzy won't kill post) has made, has difficulty paying the dues this game requires. However, I may be wrong. Just my own experience :D

Yea, im a subscriber, for about 5-6 years now.
I remember when the game was about the fight, not the win.
I remember when the subscription was quite abit more money per month, which coincidently was when the game was alot more fun.
The HTC groupies all wanna be mad at me for my opinion that the staff is well compensated for their time........ no sweat off my back. But I bet you wont hear anyone deny it either......

Max, you choose to overlook the positive statements I made about HTC, thats YOUR choice to make. None the less thay are there for all to see.
I don't have a sour grapes attitude, if I was soured at the game I would stop paying/playing.
I just dont see where they deserve a break- they control the BBS and are quick to delete anything they deem unsavory. Why would they need a break for that?
As for the money- why do any of us put up with any bad aspects of our work? cause its PART OF THE JOB! But at my job, if a customer comes in flaming me, I cant just delete his post and move on like it never happened.

1- Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting.

I just dont see where they deserve a break- they control the BBS and are quick to delete anything they deem unsavory. Why would they need a break for that?
As for the money- why do any of us put up with any bad aspects of our work? cause its PART OF THE JOB! But at my job, if a customer comes in flaming me, I cant just delete his post and move on like it never happened.
Actually we are paying for a service and that is to play Aces High and not the BBS. They provide the BBS out of the goodness of their heart and it is NOT part of the game that you pay to play. I think the bottom line is that it's theirs, they pay for software to provide it and they can do what they want with it as we are merely guests and although we almost all forget the fact that we are guest and should act accordingly, we are just that and should be greatful (aka give em the break as they deserve it). What the employees of HTC earns is of no concern to any of us and anyone who thinks that it is their concern is just plain living in a fantasy world.

I could care less if HT and company make 75,000,000 per month as long as it doesnt affect my pocket book!!!!!!
And why does the fact that somebody gets paid, even well, mean that as a result they have to eat crap from people cause they are their "customers"...
In fact if I was making that much money I certainly wouldnt need the 14.95 from those who like to whine and cry all the time..
HT gives us a fun product at a fair price and if he puts some change in his pocket too who cares...
Yes he takes your 14.95 but he doesnt have to take your crap because of it and using the math in this thread he apparently doesnt need everyones 14.95....
HT is very responsive to the customer base and accepts a wide variety of input, positive and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism... (note capitalized word)...
