I don't know if this has ever been suggested, but to me...it should be. Hows about when the radar has been destroyed the auto acks accuracy deminish's?and vice versa, when its up, the ack is more lethal, than if the radar was down? Seems like it makes good sense to me? anybody else think so?.....if ya dont like this suggestion, how about self propelled arty? But I really do like the radar idea suggested here.
as you were.:aok

did radar assested ack even exist durind WW2? If so then this would be an interesting addition

I would guess, yes. But I do not know that to be fact. (maybe we can pretend it did?)

There was a thread a long time ago about american anti aircraft guns/units that deployed to England during the end of WW2 to assist in shooting down incomng V1's. They were much more effective from what I recall.

About half way down is the part about the guns shooting down some V1's.

The question is what does the current "DAR" simulate. A long-range detection device, or a fire-control system for anti-aircraft. If the AH radar is not simulating a fire-control radar system, then knocking out radar will have no effect on the accuracy of AA.
The radar describe at this link contols four 90mm guns.

Is AH AA 90mm? And if it is, then you'd have to destroy the radar for each battery of 90mm guns. That would essentially mean there could be several radar systems at a base, both for long range detection and for closer AA fire control.
All the best.

I think ours is 37mm (manned) and 20mm (auto ack).
