Bill Parcells just quit as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.
Now the big question. Who's next?? Is Barry Switzer still available?

Bite yer tongue.
-
Give Barry Switzer 5 years and he'll have the Dallas Cowboys on NCAA probation. :D
-
So what head coaches are without a job right now....Art Shell, Dennis Green, Jim Mora. Which one will Dallas take?

We did, not quite 5 tho iirc, and he did try to carry a handgun onto a plane. That was Switzer wasn't it?
-
Maybe an assistant from the New Orleans saints should break off to become head coach.:rofl
-
You can take Houston Nutt. Please.
-
Now if they'll just get rid of Terrell Owens I can go back to rooting for them.
-
OH NO! TO!
-
Bring back Mike Ditka :t
-
must be nice to be able to walk away from 5 million dollars ..
-
I doubt we'll ever hear the real reason he quit but my bet is that it became a "me or T.O.", and the front office chose T.O. because he fills more seats and sells more team schwag than Parcells does.
Parcells hated even saying the guy's name, but the front office has to maximize attendance and licensing revenue. Seems like it would be a pretty easy choice to make from an owner perspective...
Then again, I could be wrong. Still, I doubt we'll ever hear the real story.

ON behalf of Philadelphia, we're willing to trade you Donovan McNabb for Terrel Owens.
Accept or decline?
-
The Cowboys ceased to be the Cowboys when Tex sold them to Jerry. I ceased to care anyhtnig about them shortly thereafter.

I predict none of the above.
Im betting Jerry Jones dips back int the College ranks.
Possibly luring Pete Caroll Back into the NFL

Why??
TO is more hype then performance
Yea hes good..when and if he catches the ball.
"When and if" being the operative words
But how many times did he drop the ball this year?
And that was Without McNabb throwing to him

How many games did he play without a broken hand?
If he's so over rated, then take the deal.
-
Pete Carrol wont leave USC. Why would he leave a program that recruits the top players in the country and is in a bowl every year? Especially next year they have probably the best shot at a national title with the experience coming back.

Im not a Cowboy fan.
Nor am I an Eagle fan
But the fact remains.
TO drops ALOT of balls.
TO has always dropped ALOT of balls even without a broken hand or McNabb throwing to him.
which was the excuse I heard someone here say when he was with the Eagles.
Other fact remains that where ever he has gone. Trouble has followed him.
You can have him if you want him for all I care.
I personally wouldnt give up so much as a 6th round pick for him
-

Because he wants another shot at proving himself in the NFL
If given the right opportunity. He'd leave USC

100% agree on that. TO is way overrated and not worth the trouble he brings. TO may bring the yards and TDs but he is no way a reliable reciever to be able to throw to on every down if need be. He is not a top reciever in this league and are guys in the NFL I would take over him. TO is not the fastest reciever on the field and doesnt seem like he gives 100% effort on every down he plays.

This just in...
Terrel Owens has officially changed his name and initials to Me/Myself/I.

How much you want to bet they have a MNF match up with Cowboys in Seattle next year?

Just curious, who did he blame for 2 catches for 34 yards against two cornerbacks who were working as a Loan officer and hunting guide the week before the play-off game?
-
Meanwhile, back in Small Market football world in the Pacific Northwest, Seahawks pick up Head Coach Jim Mora as an assistant coach. This means that Holmgren is either retiring this spring or next spring.

You do need a holder for your placekicker, however.

Well, I am wondering if the GM has anything to do with it? You may know alot more than I do, but I remember Holmgren being stripped of his GM status. Could the screw up with Hutch and giving that money(and a draft pick) to branch have been the last straw? Or am I reading into this a little too much?

Need I remind you of the Hasselback curse? "We want the ball and we're going to WIN!"
Seattle will not win a championship while he's on the team. I'll take a fluke missed hold over a curse.
-
Well, at least Tony has those rib restaurants he can fall back on.
-
And danged fine ribs they are!!
-
I'm telling your cardiologist!!!!!

Did the stent scrape out some brain tissue? They won it last year!
-
Fixed. I should have just said Super Bowl.
-
“I was underutilized in the offense,” Owens said. “A new coach can be good for the Cowboys. It’s not just me. But my teammates know I could have done more. I wasn’t used as a No. 1 receiver. If you don’t involve a guy, that person is not going to be as productive as he can be. That’s how I felt.”
Ok, let's count the "I's" in that paragraph.

Huh? We already won a National Football Conference Championship....for you young guns, that WAS THE Championship before there was Hunt.
If you mean Superbowl, well thats a safe bet, only 40 QB's have ever won out of 950+ that have played in an NFL season.
Besides I agree, Hasselbecks chance was last year.
-
I predict Lovie Smith will be the new Dallas coach next year.
-
I still think Mike Ditka would be perfect. He played for the Cowboys for a couple of years and he was an assistant coach under Tom Landry for several years (6 years?) maybe he would punch TO in the nose and shut him up.
-
I would have to wonder about any coach that would want to take the helm of the stinking, er sinking ship that is the Dallas Plowboys.
-

The cowboys are a relatively young team with potential talent IMO. I don't think its a sinking ship.
-
As long as the coach has to work for Jones, it will always be a sinking ship.

That kind of Blasphemous talk can get you hung here in Texas...
:)
Go Stealers!!!!!
:D
-
never nervous norv will coach the boys in 2007 & they will sux.
thats just how they roll
-
No way will Norv Turner get the job. His offense is out of date. Pete Carrol might be a good guess. JJ has the $$$ to lure him in.
-
didn't bill cowher just leave Pittsburgh? however i dont think he could handle Jerry jones well enough to get anything done. i dont think there is any coach that can handle jerry and be successful

Jimmy Johnson did okay for a few years
-
Please, no more coaches from the Northeast. We are overpopulated with Yankees as it is.

I guess that makes Jimmy Johnson the John Paul Jones of the NFL (the navy hero, not the Led Zep bass player).
-
The only reason Jimmy had any success was due to Jones being too busy putting his face in front of the cameras to notice what was going on.
After the press got tired of putting Jones in the spotlight, his attention turned to doing everything he could to ruin the Cowboys.
For the record, I really do not like Jones and the way he tries to run the team.
-
I don't remember alot of Cowboy fans feeling that way during their Super Bowl run with J. Johnson. But then again 'boys fans have been the most fickle of the bunch.
-
Lovie is a Texan. He will bail the cheapskate Bears and be in Dallas by February 6th.

I am sure a lot of folks like him. I dunt. I always feel like I need a bath after listening to him talk.

John Paul Jones rocked HARD[/U][/FONT] on an overweight airship.
i thinx he qualifies

I think he'd knock TO on his arse LOL
