wow
-
Okay I can officially proclaim that "we're there" with the technology that I can continue writing my movie script showing fighter pilots being fighter pilots without having to worry about two best friends banging the same chick.
Absolutely incredible! (Great find!!!)
-
all i have to say is...
HOLLY ****!!!!!!! ITS EVEN MORE DETAILED THAN DOOM 3!!!
SHOW ME MORE!!!
-
And a little later, just imagine what your cockpit would be like.
Full size mockup with all working controls simulated G, noise fumes, vibration and the glass on the cockpit would be the 3D imaging so the picture changes as you move you head- no more view keys.
Mind you with the simulated G, I expect the solution to natural G so we can all fly to work with our anti-G boots or coats on!
One day - maybe - drat! not in my lifetime though!
Dale will get a completely new level of gripes then like the smell of the fuel is not quite the right octane or something!
-
inspiring, absolutely awesome!:aok

WoW !
Divorce rates are gonna soar.
Great Post. TY :aok

WOW :aok 2 weeks right ????

Where do I order my 5 teraHz CPU, together with 4.5gig RAM and "Black-Hole" Grav-Force (TM) GPU card?
Holy.......
Matt

wow just wow :O

LMAO, how true!

Beautiful...but not in my lifetime will we see that here.
Be awsome to have something like that though.

I don't see why not. The technology's not only there, as the videos prove, but they're also able to be done on our personal computers, as various games prove. The trick is doing it on a large scale. With upcoming technological advances too complex for my little mind, I wouldn't be surprised if we are playing a game that looks like that within three years. Of course, getting a realistic simulator that looks like that is another story.

Same guy but I can't find the link. he's done a nice one of Mustangs dogfighting Ki-84s too.
Can't for the life of me remember the name of the site.
This stuff has been posted here before and isn't that new in terms of when it was done.

Found it.

they both by the same guy i think.
heres more
edit: too slow, left the reply window open and then got sucked into watching a few of them again :)
-
Now are we completely sure those are computer game clips? :aok :O
-
No, not from any game. Tochy only does CGI work for his short films he makes IIRC.
ack-ack
-
Man I guess I'm gonna need a new vid. card.
-
Tochy does better CG than what's shown on the History Channel!!!

Can you imagine the Lag Fest (TM) it would generate if we have this kind of graphics 10 years from now. I'll give it another +20 to make it MMPOG (Massive Multi-Player Online Game)

OMG :O That looks so sweet!!!!!!!
-
You mean we'll finally get a glass-nosed Mossie?

Lag is not at all the same as bad frame rate. The problem caused by model detail frame rate; that can be fixed with hardware. The lag problem can't really be fixed, as we know, since modems can only go so fast. Fortunately, model detail should not affect lag, unless models or skins are being transferred (which should not be happening). So, I still estimate three or maybe four years until we get a game that looks like this.

Are there La7's in that game?
-
why are the japs listening to Kenny G?

looks pretty gamey to me

Those two vids are CGI, So they are not being rendered on the fly, Yet I dont think its really that far away...
10 Years ago I got my first IBM compatable PC..
1st PC
CPU 486DX66
RAM 8MB @ 66mhz
HDD 800MB Western Digital
Trident 1 MB
Desktop PC today
CPU Semphron 2500+ ~1800Mhz
RAM 512MB @ 400MHZ
HDD 3 Drives Total Space 400 000MB
Video GF5200 256MB @ ~400 Mhz
Difference between the two (Based upon Mhz and MB)
YES THIS IS AN OVERLY SIMPLIFIED APPROACH TO THE CALCULATION
CPU Mhz 27 Times Faster
RAM 64 Times the size @ 6 Times the speed
HDD 500 Times the Size
Video 256 times the size @ approx 6 Times the speed
Now when you consider things like using water to store data:
Quote "A cubic centimetre of ferroelectric memory could hold as much as 12.8m GB of data, they reckon"
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/05/10/ferroelectric_storage/ (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/05/10/ferroelectric_storage/)
You have to wonder were we will be at in 10 Years time...
Perhaps oneday I will be able to: Turn on, Plug in and Drop out... hehe alwas wanted to be a Shadow Running Cyberpunk... lol

Works of Japanese CG animator "tochy". He's already a quite famous fellow among WW2 aviation enthusiasts and gamers alike.
For more of his works, refer to his homepage;
http://www.k4.dion.ne.jp/~suppon/
Considering the speed of technological development, I think seeing game graphics like that is indeed not too far away. As a matter of fact, fan-made movies using the temporary game IL2 series, looks remarkably life-like and incredibly realistic with some video enhancements and renderings.
Perhaps in five years, but certainly no more than ten, I believe.
-
Indeed, and look at Lock On: Modern Air Combat. The game is several years old but easily the best-looking aerial combat simulator on the market. Gennadich's Great War simulator, Knights of the Sky, looks like it's going to also look very good when it is released.
-
I liked the mid air collision "Jesus" lol
Superb graphics one day we will be there.
-
i was looking at the price of the softwear that he used for his films could by a new car easy, nice to see some one doig some great work tho.
