Well I was reading the Syracuse paper today an seen that Robert W McClurg passed away recently.
He was a seven victory ace and wingman for Pappy Boyington while serving two tours with VMF-214 in the South Pacific.
He lived in Skanateles, NY since 1987 and I never knew it. That is like 30 miles from my house.
I guess you never know.
Salute Mr Bob McClurg!!

Yup that's why I fly the corsair. that reason alone is why I bought the AW CD in OfficeMax and joined AW on AOL in 95. Imagine my surprise when I didn't fully understand why my 1943 hog didn't have 4 blades.
