Well having tried it now -
1) Isles map - It's possible (very difficult) to reset.
2) Lake Uterus - Will NEVER be reset.
Because of the position of the uncaptureable fields it means leaving uncaptureable fields in your rear.
Now that we no longer get weekly resets I guess were going to get Lake Uterus from now on, as both LW arenas now have it up.
Unless of course someone can come up with a way or resetting Lake Uterus, but I'm not holding my breath.
I've looked at the map, ran various ideas on it, and IMO it can't be done.
Sometimes wonder if some of these 'improvements' were fully though through.
[edit] It may be possible if you have 3-4 times the numbers of players of the other 2 countries.
Ooops no its not your then Spads v 262s and slingshots v Tigers :)
Oh ENY - Can you at least make a planes ENY value MEAN something? (No problem with ENY limiting)
At the moment they are all over the place. You have 1942 planes (Hurri IIc for e.g.) being limited before 1945 planes (i.e. 190D9).

Just logged into orange now, and didnt realise it before but you have to corss the ocean th other side of map to get enough bases to win war, i believe.
-
it can be done we ehave done it before. the key part here is pork the base that can not be taken and they cant do crap to you other then pork you back:aok
-
I'm sure The bish can manage round the clock porkage of un capturable fields. Then Run some 50+ missions to take the rest of the fields required one at a time.
In the case of Uterus would you think that the amount of bases is too small??? I think so but if they put the big maps back in it will just give people more undefended bases to capture. whatever way they choose people wont like it.
-
I liked it when all fields were capturable, it makes it silly to not be able to take some key fields
-
I think the biggest reason to have them is so that the one side that gets picked on (nits) still have a chance. Forcing the hordes to attack the other country inevitably makes it a fairer (3way) fight.
Rather than the war being a race to see who can get all the fields 1st the two powerful countries have to fight each other as a requirement rather than an afterthought (oh watermelon they have more fields we better take a couple before reset attitude)

If all bases were capturable, one country would be wiped off the map before the other two would turn to fight each other to win a reset.

Thats what was happening before, uterus took 2 hours to reset.

Look at the positioning of the uncaptureable fields on Uterus.
It makes it impossible to reset it.
So as there are no weekly resets anymore, better get used to it.

I vote we make the objective to capture the HQ
-
Its just me, but I enjoyed it more when all the fields were capturable and also when you could actually pork the fuel down to 25%.
Come to think of it, the very small towns in AH1 made sneak captures a little more sneaky.

THAT is a very interesting idea. A capture the flag (HQ) arena....
:)

Interesting idea but one monster mission might just end it all very quickly.
-
Last night in LW orange rooks were really getting a trouncing. Bish had the 6k base to the north and rook Island base. Knights rebounded and were pushing up effectively from the south. Would be curious to know if it got reset last night or not?
-
I think Uterus just has the wrong fields set at uncapturable...........

First off, I don't think it's bad if the map does get reset often. Very different than what we have now.
The monster mission alone would be something to behold. Imagine 50 flights of buffs, 100 jabos and fighter escort...all attacking HQ, which is near 163 bases :t
It would just be an interesting change up from the current setup :)

It would be a really cool alternate ending to the the 90-40-40 map reset requirement.
Slap a map room somewhere on the HQ tile, and make 50 troops required for capture. Then make the capturing team hold it for say 10 minutes.
Now that would be interesting.

The hq idea gave me another maybe gamey or unrealistic idea.
Suppose Instead of capturing a flag, you had to capture an opposing teams chancelor from his hq, and transport him to your own.
To do this there would be a capital building in the hq.
Once the capital building is destroyed, troops would run in and capture the chanelor, and bring him back onto the goon, m3, or jeep.
The chancelor would be an indestructable object, so incase the transport vehicle was destroyed he would just wait where it happened, until friend or foe picked him up again.
Each countries chancelor's icon could be seen on the map by everyone.
The chancelor icon would be a rook, knight, or bishop.
Probably way to much coding involved.

Here's a thought....take the ^ ^ ^ idea, reduce the number of countries from 3 to 2. Rename them Republica and Democrata...now THAT would be a war :aok

To us non-US pilots, it's all the same...

Make three countries, 'bush'ops,k'clinton'ights, and Eu'rook'epeans, lol
:lol

I dont know what your complaining about KEV it's not like the bish or rooks fight each other in anyways. you both have 100% of yor fight force to ove r run the knights.

At some time during the 'war' this seems to happen to all sides.
This morning for example in LW2 -
Wasn't a single base flashing on the Knit/Rook front, so we were fighting nearly 3 times our number on two fronts
It's not a Knight only problem.
