hi i've just started a fun squadron called 633 . i'm hoping to raise the profile of the mossie . It's a FUN squadron so it has no structure as such , no squad night . You can also fly anyplane as long as you fly mossie in atleast one sortie.
I want to get the mossie model remade so that it becomes the potent weapon it was in WWII . If we can get big mossie raids going every once in a while we could have some fun .
I got the idea when the new pizza map was on . The canyons would be great for fjord style raids of 5-10 low level mossies with spit escort or high mossie escort with no ords.
Pleas help me .
Thanking you in advance

Love those Mossie missions!
The Few and the Prawns have done some in the past. Getting 6 or more guys together then flying in with height. Enemy get confused and we end up with lots of kills :)
Good luck with the squadron B3YT.

you could always join another english squad with larger numbers than your own if you wanted. check out 71 squadron, or the few, bruv's squad...

B3YT,
It's hard for us brits to recruit because we are a minority in this game. As Poo rightly points out the 71st are a large, Knit squad based with both Americans and Brits.
I moved The Few over from a different game nearly 2 years ago and hardly any of them adapted to AH. I was stranded with just myself and a couple of others but we stuck together and managed to get more AH'ers to join.
We now have 12 of 18 that are active and 10 of those are Brits.
I know you fly mainly Knights so maybe check out the 71st. We hop between Rooks and Knights dependant on Numbers but are rooks by default for now.
My plan has always been to get as many of us as possible in the same group working together. Whether it be fighter sweeps, ground attack or capturing a field. We only need a couple of us to get the job done. To fly with us is invite only so we restrict oursleves even more by not openly press ganging noobs. My attitude is if your an english noob I will take you under my wing and teach you anything you dont know already
;)
Also we have our own vox server which is much better than in game.

B3YT, there is no doubt that you sound like a great bloke and your always welcome to fly with The Few
Download Vent (http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php) when you have the time and ask one of the lads on Channel 119 to give you the I.P and port.

A mossie squadron! nice :aok
I'm sold on the Jug, but I usually use the mossie for attack work. If you need an extra mossie, when I'm not flying with the 56th FG, I'd be glad to wing with you.

Go for it B3yt! :aok Best mossie movie ever made, imho. Got it on DVD, and remember quite well seeing it on the 'big screen' when it first came out.
Would love to see one of the FSO scenarios replicate the fjord runs too.
Biggles, I'm part of 71 ES in that other game, as well as the 4thFG there and here... Give a shout to magoo1 or knife4th if you need numbers for missions sometime.

Here's some art work you might consider modifying for the 633 Squadron logo/noseart
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v109/Maj_Spotter/633temp.jpg)
Just paint over the squadron numbers and insert a graphic in the center and you're all set.
and from my old days in 418 RCAF City of Edmonton

Enjoy, and please keep me informed on the status. :aok

Well there is always the future to consider... I might just do it myself in a couple months, so keep an eye on the SQUADS page.
Good luck, where ever you land.

Just found out a buddy of mine wants to reform the 418 City of Edmonton Squadron RCAF in WB... I'm trying to convince him to bring it here...
Should know more by August or September when he returns from Iraq.
FWIW - 418 Squadron RCAF had the highest kills/attack scores of any Mossie squadron and were given free reign to create havoc and mayhem on the Axis in Europe from '43 onwards. The only pure Mossie squadron of the war.

Best bet is to find a few other guys interested in the Mossie and start up the squad with a few die-hards to get its name out there for a tour or two. Even if they eventually go back to other squads, getting the name out there for a few weeks or months would probably help, especially if you let newbs know that you are open to recruit them. Seeing the name show up in the buffer with kills is the best recruiting tool, especially if you see a few names show up at the same time.
Good luck in getting it going someday, love seeing the Mossie raids. I'd offer to help, but I only fly planes with single Merlins. :aok

Ahhh another 4th FG man :aok

Yeah got a guy that I helped form 418 RCAF in Warbirds coming back from Iraq in September or so... He wants to do it again and I'm trying to convince him AH is the palce to be

AH has been the place to be since 1999 :rofl
Oh, and tell him "welcome back!" as you get him hooked on AH2.
I'm always open for mossie missions, if you see me online. I'm not such a fan that I'd fly them exclusively, mind you, but I do enjoy a mossie mission now and then!

As far as virtual squads go, man I wish we could get the Night Stalkers over here. Best online ground attack squadron bar none. Thier S3 ground attack scores from the old days (before they were stuck in heavies to ballance) is staggering. Really great guys too. :)

Boy howdy... I remember those guys well... :aok :aok

I miss the old BBs (British Bulldogs). Great bunch of sticks in the old Historical Arena, ran some great Mossie runs back in the day.
Used to tag along on escort duty in a P-38 a lot.
