Title: Boat and Tanks
Post by: texdoug on January 28, 2007, 08:31:24 PM
First off, let me say THANK YOU to all the folks that answered my question about getting the landing gear to come down. You were head on with the answer, I was just going too fast.
So again, thanks.

Now another question, I would like to have some fun with the boat and some of the tanks. I can get them started easy enough, but the instructions say to hit the "Q" key then move my joystick to start moving. I can't seem to get it to work correctly. What am I NOT doing correctly, and can I even play with those items off line? I'll say thank you now instead of later just cause its easier this way.

Q and W I think are default for the "gears". shift up and down. Hold your joystick forward to accelarate, and pull back to brake. Think you have to be stopped to shift into reverse.

Go into Map Controllers and then select Mode 2 (the vehicles mode), and click Copy Mode 1.

I had this same problem when I first installed, and even though I had everything assigned in control mode 2, it wouldn't recognize my stick input until I clicked Copy Mode 1.

Also, once you hit the "E" key, the vehicle must go thru a "starting pause" before it will roll.

So if you hit the "E" key, then the "Q" key, and then push the stick "forward", the vehicle WILL NOT move forward and in most cases, it will move backwards ... like it's in neutral ... until it actually has finished the "starting pause".

The "starting pause" is actually the length of time given for the vehicle start engine wave to play. Once that is complete, the vehicle will move forward when the stick is pushed forward.
