I have just bought the x52 pro and have set it up but I really don't understand how to set up the stick and throttle. I need help! Would anybody care to explaine?
-
Do you mean setting them up in windows, or setting them up in Aces High?
-
in both

Well once you get it set up in windows it will be much easier in Aces High. I've never had a Saitek stick so I'll let somebody else walk you through it.

I've gotten windows set up and running fine. My problem now is that I don't understand the map key stuff . How shoul d I configure all of these buttons and switches? Is there a basic set up that I can use?

I have a regular X52 but it's pretty much the same thing minus the ability to program the MFD. What I did to setup my stick is print out the list of keyboard commands for AH and then used the software that came with the stick to assign joystick buttons to keys. For example, the first stage of the trigger is assigned to the primary fire key, 'F' I think, and the second stage of the trigger is assigned to the fire all ket, 'N' I believe. The primary hat (the one right in the middle on the top of the stick) can only be setup as POV and I used the controller mapper in AH to setup that. AH should detect the X,Y, and Z axis on the controller but if not just use the conroller mapper to assign those to elevator, aileron, rudder and throttle.
It really helps to read the manual for the SST software that comes with the joystick. You can get it here: http://ftp://ftp.saitek.com/pub/support/sst_manual.pdf

In the aceshigh, when you go into "map controler" section, don't be confused by so many numbers of available buttons. UAB1 to UAB30 somethings...
Just press a button you want to assign, while the "map controler" screen is on, then the program will hilight the button number that you have just pressed. (selection automatically moves to the right button number)
This way, (setting AH to "see" the buttons) is much easier than using saitek program to map X52's buttons to keyboard keys.

And for the analog keys, you should watch which axe is which by turning and moving those dials. you can see the numbers moving, fine, you just found that dials number in AH map controller.
If all these comment does not help, I can send you my own mapping for X52, but It is only good for myself, so I think you can figure out how you do that in your AH map controller section.
:) I hope this helps.
Oh, by the way, if you have setup MFD with saitek drivers, the only exception for assignment is the "i" key, which is located on the left hand thumb. (which walks for MFD information and can't be used as a general button in AH. ). but if you didn't installed saitek drivers, (just USB default of Windows XP), you can assign i button also. but this way, you lose the MFD screen.
