Landmark Legal Foundation Nominates Rush Limbaugh for 2007 Nobel Peace Prize

LMAO, I don't know what's more funny, the fact that he was nominated, or the reason behind it. He was nominated for his "nearly two decades of tireless efforts to promote liberty, equality and opportunity for all humankind, regardless of race, creed, economic stratum or national origin."

Eh, why not. If Al Snore can get nominated for a crapumentary then why the hell not, as Kinky would say.

Long as your not a Democrat

I'm libertarian, I think both dems and reps are full of it. :D

Let's see....Al Gore and Jimmy Carter. Al got nominated because he "stared" in a pro-global-warming-industry hackjob of a "documentary" that even some pro-global-warming scientists have called warmed over crap. Jimmy Carter got his for being the lefts mouthpiece for their hatred of George Bush (and the committee essentially admited it). Why not Rush? At least he's entertaining.
-
I have my doubts that the Landmark Legal Foundation was solicited for a nomination.
It's about as binding as me nominating one of you mooks for the GOP presidential candidacy.
-
Get over it. Limbaugh has a huge following not only because he's a good entertainer, but because he brings up a lot of points that actually make sense. Yea he is selective in his "reporting" and opinions, but what he says resonates with a lot of people who firmly believe that the original framers of the constitution were right. That is to say, hard-core conservative thought. Say what you will about him as a personality, his message has been unwavering in favor of old-skool conservativism (ie. constitutionalist, min-fed govt, strong states rights, etc).
Apparently someone who sticks to the same message for more than a decade deserves an award. Go figure.
-
Yeah, it's known that it's the smartest that usually are the most vocal...
-
The thing that gets me about Limbaugh critics is that many of them never actually try to listen to him themselves. They listen to summaries that other people have put together, and make their judgement from the summaries instead of his actual words.
That almost defines retarded.

10 seconds on youtube including a few "keywords" is enough, thanks...I'll pass.

Maybe its because he preached an anti-drug platform while hooked on precription drugs.

I disagree. he's waffled and selectively abandoned those old-school conservative principals as it suited him. Look at the whole "carrying the water" episode, he admitted he was full of it.

LMAO, I don't know what's more funny,
I do. Al gore getting nominated.
The Nobel organization lost what remaining credit they had to their name when Yasser Arafat won it.
It's a true shame too. The Nobel prize used to mean something.

Yes. The type of retarded that is possessed by people that criticize Gore's movie without actually having seen it.
-
I haven't seen Gore's movie, yet I'm sure it's mostly crap. I did, however, listen to Rush for a while in the 90's before I decided he was full of it.

bsdaddict I need yer advice on a troubling matter, I belive you can help me.
I recently came across a book that I checked out when I was very young. It was misplaced and we moved all over the World. I found "Charlottes Web" in an old box of stuff and realized it's way overdue.
It's a first edition, hardback. Worth $$$...still in mint condition as I was the first to check it out. At that time I realized I wasn't into some stoopid Spider and Pig book. But, and here's my dilemma, If I return it I'll be fined alot. If I sell it to collectors I'll make alotta $$$.
I need the advice from a good Libertarian. Can you help me?

I've seen the trailers, I've read the reviews, I've seen summaries of his "psudo-scientific" claims. I've seen the claims he made debunked even by scientists that believe man has a role in global warming. Even they can't swallow the crap he put in it and, quite frankly, I'd believe it more if Carrottop put it together.

You could substitute Bill O'Reillys name for Limbaugh and the statemen would still be accurate.
O'Reilly is reviled by many who admit they never watch his show. They just know from hearsay that he says things that don't follow their preconceptions or liberal beliefs, so of course he is an evil jerk, or so they will tell you. They in fact are more quilty of dishonesty in their statements and opinions than Limbaugh or O'Reilly could ever be.
Dave Letterman was a perfect example, when on his show he slammed O'Reilly, his show and the things O'Reilly says, then admitted he has never watched O'Reillys show. What a hypocritical jerk who only believed what others told him.

No Mac, I'm just confused as to whether you're asking what a "good" libertarian would do, or what a "good libertarian" would do, or if you're simply trying to ask what I would do...

A good one would just put the books back where the belong and keep the hooligans quiet. What's so tough about that?
-
Sheesh..... tough crowd.
Remember to tip yer waitresses, no wonder they're pisssed. They've been stiffed more than a Mortician...This place is dead I tell you. Why just the other day I stopped by an unemployed waitress holding a sign saying "Will work for tips" I asked "Honey what's the tip?" She said give up stand up Comedy.
Badda Bing....
"..and THIS man NEVER GOT A DINNER...nevergotadinner!"

This is laughable, just a PR stunt.
http://nobelprize.org/nomination/peace/nominators.html
There's certian criteria for the ability to nominate for the Nobel, this hack and his 'foundation' doesn't meet their criteria, but the simpletons will think it's an honor for Rush.

Limbaugh is a good entertainer, like yakov smirnov, but anybody who uses him as a life guide is unable to think clearly for themselves.
-
Flatbar. #3 on the list encompasses A LOT of people that can nominate someone.
I tried to nominate my friend 2 years back for schnitzengiggles. I could have done it, as the dean of my college was willing to do it as well.
