thry this (http://www.download.com/Direct-MIDI-to-MP3-Converter/3000-2170-10388970.html?part=dl-DirectMID&subj=dl&tag=button) software.  The C-Net description doesn't say it'll do .kar files, but the manufacturer's website says that it will.

haha.  Yes, it is karaoke.  I'm planning on throwing a karaoke party next weekend, and want to build up a big base of songs on my computer instead of having to rent a machine.
