Just wondering if Aces High can be played (in the arenas) from behind a Fire Wall.

Looking for better ways to goof off at work.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

I really do not have an answer for that one.  Any Internet related software could be blocked by a firewall.

If you do not want to alert your network admins of your game play (not that I would ever suggest such a thing  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)), just try it and see what happens.

ConSeal here works well, the only problem is that if your computer gets queried while in AH you get kicked back to desktop to answer whether to allow that computer in, gets interesting if you are in a dogfight or landing a goon (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Any stateful inspection firewall will work unless it's been told to block the AH Ports.

The PIX, for instance, works.

Try It out. See if it works

For what it's worth:

A good network admin monitors network traffic
and would stop this.
(I know i'd never allow it, and if you were caught..my company would most likely fire you, or at least a big time reprimand)

Firewalls can be set up to block
protocols, specific ip's, domains, ports,
etc.

It depends on how the admin sets it up.


B.T.W.

A "Personal" firewall is generally not a "REAL" one.

It's hard to make a "REAL" firewall easy to use for the average user.
AtGuard & ZoneAlarm are not bad but they still don't quite come close to a professional one.
A good one should monitor incoming and outgoing data traffic. (As far as I know BlackICE only deals with incoming)

Conseal PC is the closest i've seen for personal use.

I should have mentioned that
I meant "Conseal PC Firewall"
Conseal PC Desktop has been sold to another
company and is unavailable now.

The older version of AtGuard is considered by many to be better than the "newer"  version (It was also sold to another company)

For the price (FREE) ZoneAlarm is great !
BlackIce does what it does better than most, although it has flaws too.

I guess the point is that...
