Was thinking of trying my hand @ whipping up a batch of BBQ sauce this afternoon and I know there are some BBQ fans out there so I thought I'd see if anyone wanted to share their recipes. Was hoping to find something kind of tangy and/or sweet. The real smokey flavored stuff doesn't go over well with some folks around here.

I love love love love love love this recipe:
Mix thoroughly in a saucepan on low heat.
1 C Water
1 C Ketchup
1/4 C Cider Vinegar
1/4 C firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 C finely chopped onion
1 Tablespoon worcestershire (worcester) sauce
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon thyme
Makes 2 cups of sauce. If ya want more just scale it up :aok

water
ketchup
vinegar
brown sugar
the above is the basic base, the amounts of each is adjusted to your tastes.
add spices, flavorings, etc. to suit your taste.
personally I add a touch more water than needed, so it thoroughly mix, blend, etc.
and let it simmer on low heat to the thickness/consistancy to my tastes.
easy enough to do, one thing though, you might want to make/keep notes on what you done. in case you make perfection to your taste.
oh if it doesn't come out just right, add more water then adjust ingredients, etc. unless you really messed up by actually burning it, it can easily be fixed. watch the heat.
1st one I ever made
