Please come to the hospital and pick up your son.

The Bears cracked his skull open, then they filled it with Stove-Top-Stuffing.

Seems to be getting worse for the Colts...

Manning can't even figure out which color jersey he is supposed to throw to.  He has run 4 plays with 4 throws:  2 almost intercepted, 1 completion behind the line (for a gain to his defense) and then an interception.

Someone tell him he is supposed to hit the light color jerseys.

:aok

16-14 Indy at the start of the second half. Not looking that bad, really, except for the turnovers, injuries, dropped balls, and general chaos that seems to be the norm for both teams.

GAAAAH I could use a drink.

Only stuffing was the Bears bandwagon engulfed in flames.   Overhyped and outplayed the WHOLE GAME!

Like I said numerous times in the O'club over the last month.

the Bears were the worst 13-3 team in NFL history
they played like the 9-6 team they should have been

Personally, I'm more impressed with NASA and anything science related.  Football is the greatest sport on earth, but that is what it is...just a sport and a game.

There are so many variables and oddities in the game that you never know what is going to happen.

I was not very happy watching the game , and am not a big fan on football if my team is 'out of the race' so to speak, but up to that point it is fun to watch teams form and stories unfold.  I guess it's a mans soap opera.

The SUK of all of this is just the pure BAD plays on offense, yet - how Indy was able to take their short game and turn it into 8 or 9 yards on a short drop.  Ridiculous.

How many times did you see the bears playing off their guy by 20 feet?  Like they are winning and playing zone?

Duh...someone needed to stand up and say HEY WTF, WAKE UP AND PLAY LIKE YOU ARE IN THE SUPER BOWL!

Oh well, Tony Dungy is a nice guy it seems and....it was his time.

Congrats Indy.

A classic case of forgetting a great quote from Pulp Fiction here ROC.

Lawman forgot about this one:

"Let's not start sucking each other's di*ks quite yet gentlemen."  - Winston Wolf in the garage after the car was cleaned and Quentin Tarentino's character commented on how the once bloody car looked like new.

This is a great quote for folks whose team pulls out ahead, but runs out of steam and chokes.

What a great game!!!! Was really fun being one of only 3 Colts fans in the bar I was at. What the hell made over $100 in side bets and managed to piss everyone off in the process.

It was funny watching all the Bears fans go silent towards the end of the 3rd quarter.

O well, better luck next year.:D

Should have seen all of the empty seats in the Lower Sections after the 3rd Quarter ended.   Pay $2500 a seat and stay for 3 quarters!   Such "Devoted fans".   :rofl

no fan has the right to talk smack.  unless you are dressed out and taking hits you have no rights to comment either way.  spectator sports fans are such losers.

What about sports writers/reporters?
Some of them talk smack alll the time.
And I'd be willing to bet 90% of them never so much as played Pop Warner

Actually I didn't have a dog in that fight.  I was thinking about all the hype around the Colts only to have them come out of the gate in the manner they did.  It was amusing.

But you are right, they sure turned it around and played a good game.   That is what the Stuper Bowl is all about!:D

I just wish I hadn't been on call.  Some beer would have gone very well with the Buffaloe Wings.:(

sports writers and the press in general are parasites.

storch you got picked on as a kid playing sports or something?

Or does it just piss you off when people get excited about a game and have a little fun with it?

If it were not for the arm chair quarterbacks, the fans, the debates, the discussions, the fights etc over who's team is going to win, there would be no game.

Yes, they do have the right to talk smack.  It's by design. How many would even watch the game if there was no buildup to it?  No emotion, no vested interest real or imagined does not lend itself to promotion.

Unfortunate comment, really.  Tell me, does this logic transfer to other things?  You aren't all dressed out and taking hits in a fighter plane, mearly "pretending" much like a WW2 fan.  Loser?

quite the opposite I played football from optimists through high school and was on the team that took away the state championship from a team that held it for 25 years.  I developed a strong dislike for fans from early on.  the one day "they" were the heros (our team won="we" won) to "you guys suck" depending on how the guys actually playing did.  when they were hollering "we" won my response was really?  I didn't see you on the field!! to being told "you guys suck"  to which my response was if I suck why don't we take it to the grinder and you show me how I might do it better.  I never had any takers though.  after highschool I became involved in individual sports me vs the wave initially and later me with the wave.

scrubs and losers.  sports fans are scrubs and losers.  I have no use for them and it annoys me when they come to my town and trash it.

Ok, it's just a thin skin then.  I understand.

You probably ought to stay away from anything "cool" then, 'cause someone might give their opinion and make you feel bad.

you don't need to justify your position to me.  justify it to your bosses as you spend hours of time that you are paid to be working talking about sports events as if it mattered.

I'm not sorry when I see white collar jobs outsourced to india and other places.  if you scrubs put a quarter of the time and enthusiasm you reserve for sports events that don't pay you to your jobs which do the country would be a lot better off.

with regard to AHII I view it as challenging and vexing as golf but far less money.  and yes I suppose I'm a loser for playing it.

Considering my position at my "job" I think I can post or work, depending on what I feel like doing.  I think, perhaps, a better example of what's "wrong" with America is that there are people that make ignorant assumptions leading to comments like yours, and Assuming there Is anything wrong to begin with.

Now, please explain to me what possessed you to do this.  You insult people who do things you don't like.  It shouldn't matter one bit what someone else does on their free time.  Yet, you insult, like you have the moral authority to define acceptable uses of ones time.  I point out how fans are beneficial, and Ask you a question about the logic of your ideals.  You return the discussion with Assumptions of my employment conditions, blame me for the cause of ruin in our nation, yet Never actually contradict my "opinion" of the inherent value of the Fan Base to the game.

I do see in a prior post how "you" feel wronged by your fans, and frankly, any player with your attitude probably does need to go float on a wave by himself.

Now, is it possible for you to have a conversation with anyone Without the inevitable insult?  Is this something beyond your ability? Or will you now try to divert the conversation away by insulting my Cat?

The funniest part about storch's meltdown here is that he claims he went out and intentionally played spectator sports, but couldn't stand the actual spectators.  The implication of course is that he quit playing team spectator sports not out of any particular lack of talent, but because the spectators drove him away.

That's a bit like stripping down nude in the middle of of central park and getting offended when everyone stares.  If football wasn't supposed to have spectators, then they'd play it in a small building with no windows or bleachers and call it...  I dunno, congress maybe.  Anything but a spectator sport.

I'll answer that by shutting this one down.  Once a thread becomes personalized, it really is not suitable for public discussion.

Some people should consider just walking away from a thread if all they can do is irritate the posters.  I really have never understood that mentality.  "Hey, I can piss on this thread!"
