well...From being used against any blacks at least...I dont have time to find a link, but last night on the O'reilly factor, there was a Temple University Professor calling President Bush a racist because when asked by Neil Cavuto how the troops would support President Obama, President Bush responded "he's good looking, well spoken and very articulate, but he has a long way until he becomes President." Apparantly to some crazy racist black people that was a derogotory comment. geez
-
Don't you see? It was the "a long way to become President" part that was racist. Clearly, Bush was stating here that Afferkin-Americans don't make good Presidents. What a racist! Now if you'll excuse me I need to go back to shaving my head for the rally.
-
articulate: expressing oneself readily, clearly, or effectively.
Very few people in professional politics I would characterize as articulate. Watching wind-bag John Edwards on Meet the Press over the weekend drove that point home.
While I may not always share his views, Obama is one the few politicians that I can stand to listen to for more than 60 seconds without wanting to pull my ears off my cranium. He is articulate. His race has nothing to do with it. Get over it.
-
That was well put. "Articulate" is a compliment, and a compliment does not imply that others of the recipient's race are the opposite. When a black man says, "Hey, nice car," I don't start yelling, "Hey, are you saying white folks usually have ugly cars? You racist!" I say, "Thanks!"
-
Uh, you guys missed the memo.
People of a pale persuasion are not allowed to make any type of comment about the Obomba, unless they hail from from Hollywood.
You need to keep up with the times.
-
Anyone else see the irony in Bush calling someone articulate?
-
Perhaps he should have said "He's a real credit to his race" instead.
tee hee
-
Yeah. I had to laugh about that one. Bush being associated with the word 'articulate' is just wrong. At the same time I had to be ashamed of the obvious racists remarks he made. I would sue if I were the Obomba.
How dare a man of pale persuasion make a comment about someone who is not of pale persuasion. I am so outraged, I think I will eat a Snicker's bar.

I have it on good authority that Obama is clean as well as articulate.

Don't we admire most in others that which we lack ourselves? Anyway, this is crazy. If you diss Obama you're a racist; if you compliment him you're a racist (regardless of party affiliation, or so it would seem from Sen. Biden's remarks last week; at least it's a non-partisan offense). Has it ever occured to some people to give people the benefit of the doubt and just take what someone says at face value? If Bush is so racist, why does he have the most racially diverse cabnet in US history? Why has he bucked not only his own party, but the entire nation in pushing for amnesty for illegal aliens? How about looking at actions, instead of trying to divine hidden meaning in a compliment?
-
Biden beat bush to the draw on the day Biden announced for the Presidency on Jan 31, IIRC.
In his latest effort, Biden wasted no time subverting his already microscopic chances. On the day of his announcement, he mused about Illinois Sen. Obama: "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy."
Just keeping the timeline straight. Someone has to hold these dang Republicans like Biden from picking on Obama!
-
um... I'm pretty sure this statement was made by Joe Biden. At least Biden went through the same ****storm.
-
moe:: "you sir are very articulate"
bo:: "whad you call me?"

I will say that everyone is racist. We all make fun of people if its color, race, looks, or there mental state. STFU about the "His/She is racist" I'm so sick of it. At school all the African Americans start saying thats racist when a teacher tells an African American kid to go to the office or says sorry thats a zero because you didn't finish your work. If we say the reason you see blacks are more likely to start in sports than whites because there good, the African Americans say thats racist. If a black guy says a white boy can't jump, we say thats true. To me a Racist person is someone who thinks another person that is not in his/her image as equal to you because of looks, or mental state, thats racists. To make it all equal we all are racists. I know everyone here as made fun of or made a joke about Blacks, Asians, Middle Easterns, Europeans, whites, and Hispanics in there life time.

I mentioned something along those lines in another thread.
The Democrates are going ot make it harder on themselves then they need to.
All they have to do is have a white male run for president and they win.
but are they going to do that? Nooooo
Instead they are going to give us a choice of Either Hillary. Or a black man with an arab sounding name.
That is going to be an instant turnoff to alot of voters.
you just said as much yourself

Try having Obama as an official of your state. He chose the side of tree hugging sissies rather then having a coal power plant built not too far from here, even when jobs are getting very scarce.
He better not aske me for my vote personally, id tell him to his face exactly what he is

Actually, you mean "everyone is a bigot." Racism means bigotry specifically about race. Someone who beats up colored people because they're colored is a racist. Someone who beats up women because they're women is a misogynist. They're both bigots, but not both racist.

Everyone is "colored"
I've yet to meet a clear person ;)

Would you prefer Negro? I'm sorry if it offends you, but I'm not sure what else I'm allowed to call them these days. Seems that someone's bound to get offended no matter what you say. I refuse to call them "Afferkin-Amaiakins" because that's just absurd. One cannot be both an African and an American, as President T. Roosevelt pointed out, any more than you can be a German-American or Irish-American. You're either American or you're not.
