Title: WWII German bombing questions.

Had a question in WWII when Germany went across the channel to bomb the allies how high did they come in? Did they have escorts if so how many and how high where they?  I'm asking cause I plan on making a lil film, and want to get my facts straight

9-21k, usually around 15-17k, fighters 2-3 k above or right next to bombers after Goering order
