I was assigned to a buff (JU88) this past frame, and was extremely surprised at what happened affter I pickled eggs for two A17 FHs.
My bombs never hit the ground...or if they did, i have no idea where they hit. I made two passes, calibrated the exact same way i do all the time in the MA and in past FSO frames...but my bombs never hit the ground, and def didnt hit anywhere near their target.
This cost my side 2 FHs, prolly more since I would have had diff targets on second pass. (not complaining, just trying to figure out what happened)
Maybe someone has film that could help figure this out?
Did anyone else experience this problem?
(I know for a fact i was spot on calibration wise b/c i confirmed with E6B readouts...and I very very rarely miss at all any other time i am Buffin.)
Any ideas guys?

no it means you SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
i dont suck that bad....
Something was really messed up...i cant explain it...oh well
-
ok let mean try and explain.
You create such a powerful vacuum around yourself, that your bombs missed.
-
Doobs, you're not helping lmao
It's possible to hit a hanger, do damage and Not destroy it. You will only get an object destroyed message if you take the thing down.
Don't over complicate it, nothing is seriously messed up, you just missed is all.

ROC did you not read "somethins not right I can't explain it"
so it obviously can't be on Caspers end of it
so I figure the bomb fuses were faulty or vacuum/suckage theory:noid

wait think I found the problem, lets study Caspers log from fridays event;
22:09:33 Departed from Field #10 in a Ju 88A-4
22:51:25 Shot down a Spitfire Mk V flown by Wing.
22:53:53 Destroyed a soft gun battery at base #17
22:54:02 Missed Fighter Hanger at Field #17
22:54:05 Missed another Fighter Hanger at Field #17
22:54:15 Missed yet another Fighter Hanger at Field #17
22:55:01 Spots multiple UFO's at Field #17
23:05:43 Arrived Safely at Field #10
well that explains everything

but im telling youguys , there were NO impacts on my side from two passes on target with solid calibration...damn ghost vacuums...
i didnt even see the soft gun die! :O
-
Well then that leaves only one last explaination

Seriously Casper,
While you guys were overhead the target, I was on the ground trying to run to the friendly field. I heard you on range trying to figure out where your ordnance went. Two bombs dropped so short, I thought I was gonna get killed. Could have been some of yours?
-
Doobs.
My eyes are watering.
Oh I needed that laugh. Made my week.
-
Doobs I can't stop laughing, you are a nut

The 325th also experanced that as well in Frame 1 when we dropped 5 bombs into a VH at the north Port (I think 30).
I was watching for BDA and calling in guys to drop. Each bomb went into the hanger but no explosion. All were dropped from about 1000 ft.
After the 5th bomb didnt go off I called off the drops and we moved on to other targets. One of the guys stayed with it and gunned the VH down in the end.
So I'm not sure if the bombs hit and the guns finished it or not. Or the guns just finished it and all of the bombs were duds. I wasnt the only one that saw it either. I figured it was a graphics bug and didnt report it.
And before anyone starts I know that bugs bunny guy wasn't in my plane either. I know because there isnt that much room left in a freaking 109 with my large buttock!

I do a lot of bombing. This happens all the time. You hear a bang but there is no damage visible or otherwise. Not even a mark on the ground.
It's a bug. I have never posted on it (or any of the other whole bag full of bugs I am aware of), as I have zero respect for the bug reporting mechanism. You might want to report it, expect derision, abuse etc.. but it might get fixed. Who knows? I genuinely wish you luck.

on both passes my salvos were more than 2. so i doubt it. but, maybe those two were the only ones that didnt get discoed :P

You guys have pretty much covered it. The bug has been around for at least since Operation Downfall but I've never been able to duplicated it consistently, except in LAN h2h on your first few runs.
I don't know if your calibration was right or not, on the first pass you registered one hit on F17FTH003. On the second pass you registered 25 hits on F17FTH002 and 4 hits on F17FTH003. Numbers like that would lead most people to think you just didn't put enough ordnance on any one target, I can't say.

25 hits? i dropped twice with salvo 10 of 100kg eggs on...one drop on one FH, another drop on its neighbor...
but i saw nothing...and apparently didnt kill it. should 2500kg be enough for a single FH?
