Title: Visual C++ Runtime error
Post by: Westy MOL on October 09, 2001, 08:57:00 AM
I get this error

every time I try to run Aces High after I'd already had it running once before but had exited the program. The computer continues to run fine and when I click OK and the window closes. I do however find that I cannot run Motor City Online or Return to  Castle Wolfenstien as I recieve a "glide" error message (from Ret Cast Wolf):

 Initializing OpenGL driver
...getting DC: succeeded
...GLW_ChoosePFD( 16, 16, 0 )
...23 PFDs found
...GLW_ChoosePFD failed
...GLW_ChoosePFD( 16, 16, 0 )
...23 PFDs found
...GLW_ChoosePFD failed
...failed to find an appropriate PIXELFORMAT
...restoring display settings
...WARNING: could not set the given mode (3)
...shutting down QGL
...unloading OpenGL DLL
...assuming '3dfxvgl' is a standalone driver
...initializing QGL
...WARNING: missing Glide installation, assuming no 3Dfx available
...shutting down QGL
----- CL_Shutdown -----

The only way I can get AH to work again or these other two games is to completely shut the PC down and boot back up normally.
