Title: Can't install upgrade!!..every time there's a patch
Post by: Extreme on September 13, 2000, 06:31:00 AM
I always have this problem with every patch that comes out and I end up having to download the whole base.

Error is:
"The file Aceshigh\stdshapes.res is not a valid previous version and could not be upgraded"

What's the installation program looking for??

I'm getting real tired of this   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)...

Are you loggin onto AH and being auto-updated or are you pointing your browser to the download page and saving the new patch or version to your harddrive? How or where are you getting the files to download? What browser?  This is not a common problem and it may be an easy fix for you if the step or process that shouldn't be used is found.

humm... that's strange. I have a problem with hires terrain. It started when I was updating ah. During copy of files, setup program could not write stdshapes.res

When I had a look at directory this file wasn't there anymore. I decided to install full version. Everything worked fine till I tried to install hires terrain: it didn't work :-(

Just curious, do u use an international version of Windows?

I use the download page to get the updates.  Always do that so I can put it where I want.

* Browser is IE5.0 (standard english version)

Nothing real special about how I get the files.
