"Reports Continue to Come Out Of Iraq Of Poorly Equipped Soldiers Operating Unarmored Vehicles......"
Instant memory for me there. I can sympathize with the rear gunner.
My Class-3 "Guntruck" in Iraq for OIF-II was a military 929 series, 5-ton dump truck with low grade boiler plate welded onto to it - with a M249 gunner on the headboard with 400 rounds, a CLS in the back with a M203 with maybe 6 shells, and me on the Ma Duce with 600-800 rds on pintel mount watching the rear,..... plus Driver, A-Driver, and a "man-pack" radio in the front...... right out of a Mad Max movie. And always at the rear of the convoy.
Better than the photo.... but not a whole lot better.......

They go for about 1.5 million a copy.
The one shown is the export model, with no bell or headlight.
