Title: Hey ack-ack...
Post by: Treize69 on February 12, 2007, 02:15:58 PM
Were you by any chance in Late-War in a P-38L with 3 other P-38s chasing you up to about 35,000 feet at about 1:00 eastern this morning?

Just curious who the heck that was. We figured it was you but never found out. :)

Why would I run from you?  And why would I be at 35,000ft?  I never take the P-38 above 20,000ft because of compressability issues.  And if you guys didn't get shot down, it obviously wasn't me.

We were trying to think of people not in our conspiracy who actually know how to fly that thing, and the guy we were against had e-management down to an absolute science.

Either that or was a complete n00b who happened to have a light hand on the controls.

Whoever it was exectued a great break and split-ess to come after us after we disengaged, but must have been as low on fuel as we were because we dodged him and he left.

We then got HOed by a SpitXVI as we RTB'd on fumes at 25,000 feet and only 1 of us made it home...

My guess was that it was murdr, but since he already posted in here and hasn't fessed up, I'm assuming I was wrong too. Savlan thought it was akak.

Only one flyer I know of in AH that fits your description of a P-38 flying that high is BUG322.  -IG- would also regularly fly a P-38 that high but he wasn't so good in the E management department nor was he a regular P-38 driver.

Haven't seen BUG322 in ages, maybe it's him in a shades account.  BTW-  he was also the first one to pop in my mind when everyone was trying to figure out who Ka1e was.  All he had was energy fighting, without that he was pretty much cannon fodder.

Hm.

I know who was the opponent in my other two good fights last night, but that one has me stumped.

I've only ever encountered Ka1e in a Yak, but it did sort of match his style.

Not saying that it is, as I've yet to encounter Ka1e in the MA but the Yak was also one of Bug322's favorites IIRC, think it was the T over the U model.

If only there was a feature in the game where at a keystroke you could record telemetry and ID any plane within icon range of you.

A bit too busy to turn on the flight recorder, didn't even think of it until long after the fight.

205 sorties so far this month, 310 kills, and I think I've only made about 20-25 total films, including several from the same sorties.
