After seeing a few comments about old software it reminded me of the DOS based AV8B (Harrier Assault)game battling out missions on an Island?. This was a terrific stand alone game but so fussy about memory you had to have a Boot disk just to play it with the Config.sys and Autoexec.bat files tweaked to suit!
I thought the flight model was great with the inertia of the aircraft being a great aspect when in the hover.
Since Windows95 arrived I was never able to play it anymore. It would of course be a great game if HiTech would do it and so perhaps I should post in the wishlist. However, I wanted to find out if there is somewhere a modern version at least as good as the flight model of the old DOS one that runs on Windows XP.

Something like that would be high on my wishlist, too. :aok
I used to have a game on my Amiga (or was it C64?) called High Rollers, which was an AV-8A Harrier game.... pretty arcadish, but fun.
I've yet to see a Harrier game that was really done well... I would be in Heaven if one were someday. :)

edit:
oops sorry thought you were looking for the original until I reread your post .. :)

I miss that game too. :( Was a good one.

I've found that old video games, unlike John Landis movies, don't seem to stand the test of time well...

I loved that old harrier game with the task force.
Played it all the way through 3 times. Sure wish I could get the equivilent with upgraded graphics that would play on a modern computer!
