rather be smokin than dead, lol

and you shouldn't be flyin by yourself, but I believe ya got 2 of us

here is Toadflaks AAR

That last battle was an epic battle. Our ace. 109F4-Geepel Vs an unknown Hurricane mk2 pilot. Doobs orders squad to engage, and keep our ace alive to fight another day. Doobs and 3 wingmen drop in on the Highly experienced Pilot. Their efforts are great. but the Hurricane's cannons are just to much for the 109 of this time. From my high CAP position i hear, Over the radio, the worst possible news that has reached my ears that day. Our Ace has been critically hit, and is going down. Shortly after i hear another fel message over the radio, one of our newer pilots is going down, luckily he is able to bail out and he lands in friendly territory, he will likely be back in the air the very next day. The Hurricane is now living on borrowed time. Our squad commander has a shot, he doesn't hesitate to take it. His aim is good, and his bullets fly true. the Hurricane is fatally wounded, and crashes into the nearby foliage. Doobs then radios in that his radiator has been hit, and that his engine is seizing up. He has enough speed to glide his plane in for a relatively soft landing in the nearby fields. Later that day, the wreckage of the hurricane is found; the plane is in fairly good condition, the gun cams and fuselage are largely intact. The pilot is no where to be found. At a later date high command reveals to our squad that the pilot of the hurricane was a famous British Ace, and had 6 total victories for the day. His call sign ......."Kermit" We were also given reports that he had escaped back into allied territory, and that we will likely be seeing him in the air again. The wreckage of An unknown 109F the plane is heavily charred, it seems the main fuel tank ruptured on impact, and at one period caught on fire. No remains are visible. We assume that our Ace has escaped his plane, but succumbed his injuries in the vast terrain between his position and friendly reinforcements.

I can't believe you got away!
I was 200 on a 109's six going up and about to pull trigger when BAM!
You got me good.
I got stuck lingering around for too long in that area.  I was supposed to rtb with squad, but I didn't want a 109 to up again from a nearby enemy field, he was on a rearm pad, so I dove at him and he then towered.  I then went straight back to my airfield 50miles away, in a hurri, that will take forever.  Few minutes later I saw a 109f sneaking up on me a 1k out!
Then a nice furball formed and I died.  I was hoping to run away. :)

Frogs are dessert now?
hmmmm......

I still can't believe you got away...argh!

We watched his guns tear through most of our squad on the runway. and if you want me to prove it i can. and it wouldnt shot up on kills/assiste becasue he didnt kill anyone, and we all reuped because we werent gonna fly with no oil because someone didnt know not to hit f on hte runway.

Strange, I will look into it.  Was this at the start of the frame, or durring rearm?  I'm thinking something went wrong.  Ramon wouldn't do something like that on purpose.

During my escape, I stumbled across a 109f's crash site.  I dragged his body out of the burned up plane.  I took his clothes and used them as a disguise to help me escape!  I also took his wallet and a hand held camera he had on him.  I buried his body nearby.  Said a nice prayer for him.

Here's a photo I have taken from Geepel, just a mere 5 seconds before he was fatally wounded.

Hmmm, I have no problem with getting a new plane in that situation. This was obviously an accident on Ramons part. I don't think he has ever had a friendly fire incident, and he has MANY FSO's under his belt.

Our apologies Doobs, and the rest of our squad.

First off boys. i just want to make an appology, the way i worded that post is hostile sounding. i was a little irked because when asked in open who was firing no one responded/appologized. but no hard feelings accidents do happen.

That's OK Toad, you have every reason to be "miffed" I know I would have been. I didn't think your post was "hostile" sounding, you just sounded like you wanted an explanation. That is totally reasonable.

Well, after several hours of interrogation, Ramon finally cracked. I knew we would get a confession out of him eventually. You won't notice the physical damage after a couple of weeks, but the mental scarring might stay with him for the rest of his life. BTW, just so you know, electrical shock isn't as good as the old bamboo under the fingernails. However, we really got good results once we started threatening his family. Here is the signed confession.

"First of all, let me apologize for this. I surely did not do this on purpose. Here is what I think happened. When we spawned on the runway my X45 throttle was inadvertently in Mode 1, this is mapped as the "flight" setting. I have Mode 3 set up as "ground taxi" mode. When I went to start engine I was actually firing the gun. Again, I apologize. I would not fire on friendlies on purpose. I thought my windscreen was covered in oil before I pulled to the side of the runway but when I pulled to the left my windscreen was clear. I think this proves it had to be me who fired or else I would have been hit as well. At first I thought it had to be a glitch but after rethinking the circumstances I take full responsibility. To prevent this in future, I will start engines with the keyboard when in a group spawn such as FSO. If anyone wishes, I will remove myself from FSO. TracerX, please pass this on to all who were hit because I don't have their emails. Let me know what the verdict is, and I will abide by it with no hard feelings."

Ramon

See, you can tell it was a forced confession since no one is that sincere and apologetic without hanging from a pair of hand cuffs for a couple of hours.  Also, Sled is pretty intimidating with that whip.

Thanks Ramon, I think we can let you off with time already served. See how easy that was?  :aok

Man, you know you are screwing up when you get the spotlight out of over 200 pilots!  As I stated above it was an accident.  Can't apologize enough, thanks for your understanding.
