Virtually all MMO's have clauses in their User Agreements that prohibit sharing of accounts, Aces High being among them. However, unlike most MMO's AH doesn't offer the ability of multiple characters on a single account and that is something that most MMOs do offer and maybe Aces High should as well.

yeah maybe if they wanted to do that, they could at an additional expense, maybe call it a premium acct , or have something like
bronze acct = 1 username cost ( same 14.95 )
silver acct = 2 or 3 user names cost an additional 5.oo dollars
gold acct = 5 user names cost an additional 10 dollars.......
or something of sorts, I'd bet almost every user would for go the silver acct at least........
just an idea........but since the game is setup to log your IP, you could not have more than 1 user name logged on at the same time? :D

I think it's pretty common for some father/son teams to use the same account until the kid wants his own. I have no problem with that- anything you can share with your kids is great!

The account I play on is shared by my brother and I, no reason to pay twice. I mainly tank, bomb things and strafe ground targets. He prefers to dogfight. It works out for us.

Have to agree with that as this was my case for a month or two before my son got his wings.
and...AAolds has been a fun fight both on the ground and in the air with no hint of "funny biz"so no probs there. Like most things this comes down to the user and his motives for having multiple accounts.

We did that for a while. One summer my dad, brother and myself all sat around the computer taking turns on who got to fly. (limited by one puter and joystick) but now its' mine all mine.
One xmas I go back to visit my folks and set up AH to play a bit, my little nephew wants to play so I say ok.
Come back to find out he upped a tempest or a 262 or something off a vulched airfield, I can just see the local channel chatter, dohhhh!! dredger upped a 262 AGAIN!!!!

Disagree having multiple names is a bad idea.
In FA you could have 5 and lets say before they added the associated nick feature people would hunt in shades and ack like real punks then swap back to their normal nick.
Letting someone else play on the account is a nice idea but make them pay extra for the privelege.
It makes it harder to build a community when people change, edit and play as different names and act like stunninghunks in them.

Agreed...tho letting my brother play on my account a couple of nights didn't hurt anyone, and he eventually got his own cause he loved it...in the long run it was better, now there are 2 users. As far as letting my nephew play, I think I've paid enuf.
btw, u live in Portsmouth...what a neat city. I made it a point to go there last time in England, to see the HMS Victory and royal navy museum..thot it was fantastic. We had to hide from press gangs though, trying to make us serve on some british ship. (ok, srry for hijack, enuf said)

Yep. Again, that is something pretty much all MMOs do as well. In AH, it would prevent a player from vulching one of his other "characters" on his account.

Well, actually, no. Back when they thought we'd run out of IP addresses they wrote RFC1918 (which superseded 1627 and 1597) to encourage the use of private networks. Now days some ISPs use RFC addresses for their high-speed customers and masq them all to a single routable IP.
So much for running out of IP addresses. The Internet will go away and be replaced by something else before IPv6 replaces 4, mostly because they can't do the trick used to replace NCP with IPv4 anymore.
The short answer is they can't restrict you based on IP. They need to come up with another method, and there are several to choose from. In the case of something like AH the point is moot; single log in at the authentication server. One account, one login. Simple math. No fancy identification coding required.
Most MMORPGs use the 1:1 ratio. That doesn't stop you from letting little Johnny use your account when you aren't, but that's a whole different security luser to lart.

<----- would not ever want more than bronze.
most of the people i know think flying online games is a bit sad and for kids..
....I'd like to keep them thinking like that, and keep our little world as pure as possible.

My cousin did the same a few months backed, got vulched 8 times in a 262 or something I think. I don't use perks anyway so no big deal really.

Welcome to AH. This happens all the time.
You get the I QUIT thing......
Then some "Noob" pops up with the same ole lines and same ole crap.
Shades in AH are all over the place.

Just pay 14.95 and get another account. Or does the logged IP prevent it?
-SR-:huh

I will admit, once or twice I have allowed a friend, or cousin, use my account for a day or two to try out the game with skins and everything. Its on days when I wouldnt be playing anyway, and the one rule I have is that they must state, and be open about the fact that they are not me. Ive only done it twice, one day each, but both people ended up trying to buy a subscription. (I say trying because they both had personal issues that prevented it). I really wouldnt complain if someone let their friend try it out for a day. And I DEFINATELY dont have a problem with father/son teams. God knows I would be extatic if I could get MY father interested in this... but I disagree with the multiple IDs. What is the point of having multiple IDs, if they cannot be on at the same time? I think it would only lead to spying and other unsavory acts.

Don't people already do that anyway ?
I agree with you Bruv, AH2 is all about the community, enough said.
