Title: Skins and performance Question
Post by: Tsnow on February 18, 2007, 05:08:24 PM
Before I started downloading the skins I had good-excellent performance.
Now with most of them completed I find myself occasionaly freezing when I try check my six or other views.

Can anyone tell me how to delete the skins so I can return to my previous perfomance?

My computer is ancient, and with a kid in college dad isn't getting any new toys soon. Before each AH session I reboot, and close all background tasks. Are there any other tricks I can do to perhaps boost performance?

Thanks in advance

Delete the 'skins' and 'cache' folders in the Aces High II installation folder.

Yes. You shouldn't run normally at 1024. 512 should be max if you have a good system. If you have a slower video card or less ram, don't go above 256 (it looks blocky, I know, but it helps).

Thanks Krusty it was pre set at 1024 and before I downloaded the skins I had little to no lag. I have since switched to 512, without removing the skins, and although I am no longer lagging, Trees and objects on the ground sometimes look like white blocks.

I have my FPS set at 60

My computer is ancient but my vid card is pretty good, I think.

Pentium 4 - 2.26 GHz
Radeon 9550 -256mb
1000 ram

Any other tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for all the help

As someone who dropped out of high school and digs holes for a living, I see it as a life goal to put my girls though school. If I manage that, I will consider myself a success.
