Title: AHII hates my friend.

hmmm
i've done everything i can think of to repair my friends computer. but, the problem persists.

that problem being, when ever my friend fires guns from an airplane for about 4 seconds his computer freaks out and makes loud noises and crashes....

The sound test for dXdiag was successful and fully normal if that gives any hints or narrows it down at all

check if sound acceleration is maxed. if so back it up a notch or 2.

and also, it may not just be a sound problem, could be a graphics problem, as it has spread to where sometimes when he spawns in it'll crash. or when he crashes it will crash



also the change was unsuccessful. =/
any other fixes?

after crashing it says
"the VT disk display driver has stopped working normally"

i had a power supply that made noises when i fired guns or strained alot from my vid card. replaced it and it was fine.

What is a "VT disk display driver"?? Is that some sort of on-board display adpater?

If it's build into the motherboard chances are it's not up to snuff (99.99999% of all onboard video cards on crap)

VT Display WAS an inbuilt POS and i gave him my fathers old gforce 4 4600 cause i didn't have an ACP port and put it in his comp today and it works great, but now the terrain and stuff, looks odd... its like the colors are doing the prism effect on the trees and stuff...

YES! I am coming back, after I get  a computer worth playing it on
so i had to revoke my subscription in order to save some money to buy a new compy =p
and an X52 =/

Prisms and funny looking stuff is a drivers issue.

Try 61.47, I think that's the recommended version for older cards. I think that's what I had when I used a 4400. (it was 61.47 or 64.77 or something with a 6, 4, and 7)
