I was over friendly troop base, just about to pull the trigger on the only con in the area and poof, towered. :furious

bummer...did you film it?
Just asking cause makes me wonder if
1. there was another enemy u didn't see that shot you down.
2. was a zone base captured and you didn't realize it when the troop factory changed.
3. maybe a ground gv got a lucky shot on u?

Wasn,t any of those. Only possible thing I may have done is shot a freindly. Wish I had film. Thing is the friendly was 800 ahead of me and the hurri 2 was 200 away. I was in a 109. Usualy cant hit a thing at 800.

I am sure HT keeps puffy ack as it is, just to smite me.
 :D

Ahh HA, there is the problem, right there. Pure scientific fact.
When you fire a gun, you "Must", by the laws of physics, either hit something or miss something. Correct?
Ok, moving on, since you Usually Don't Hit anything at 800 this supposes that since tracked, it is something you Try to do. Try to hit an object at 800, and Miss.
Logic dictates that the opposite held true here. If you aim for something and miss, then it's inevitable that you will hit what you did not aim for.
Proof, the friendly 800 away from you :). Clearly, you did not aim for him, you aimed for the enemy 200 out.
So knowing this, your K/D should improve greatly if you start aiming for the air Around your target :D
I am available for book signings.

Will your sequal cover the theory of flight based on strapping cats with buttered bread ( buttered side outwards ) attached to their backs underneath the aircraft?
:rofl

Yes, as a matter of fact, it will. And I will be adding your name to the credits as you performed this perfectly last FSO and the film came out flawless! :D

But I'm already quite proficient at hitting the air around the target when I aim the way you described. Even though your logic seems logical, when aiming for the air that is where the projectile goes.

I've been hit too by the CV ack. Lost 4 kills. :(

Carrots? *brrp* What Carrots??

The sole time I ever saw friendly AI puffy ack from the CV hit anything whatsoever, it was me. (I was closely following an enemy target at the time. I guess the AI didn't want me to steal its kill.)

Flak does not respect friendly aircraft. It didn't in real life and it doesn't here. You have to keep that in mind whenever following an enemy into a flak unbrella, especially over carrier groups.

Was chasing a set of ar234's to a cv group once.. jumped them on teh bombing run killed two and was finishing off the last one in my 262 when suddenly my left wing tip came off... The enemy plane flew thru the ack unscathed and I lost my bird due to friendly fire.. it was not a pleasant experience.

Yeah, i had a fear of puffy ack for a few weeks...
i'd fly a bomb mission forever then get all the way to drop point and start exploding...
so i started turning around every single time i caught puffy ack

It was a lovely sunny Sunday morning with a wind speed of 0 and the weather called for low enemy contact over the enemy HQ. Seeing this great opportunity I grabbed an rv8 to photograph and do recon for the up coming allied bombing mission which now seemed inevitable.
All Data had been gathered, and as I was getting ready to RTB when all of a sudden my eye caught a glimpse of a high Hog diving in from 4 ‘o’ clock. In an act desperation and panic I pushed my nose down banked hard to the Right and gave it full rudder till I saw nothing but a tunnel vision, all this time hoping that he would miss. As he dove behind and under firing his guns I did a quick check for damage, the left aileron along with one of the landing gear had gone missing.
He climbed back up to get in position for another pass. This guy is not a bad shot, not going to make home this run I thought ……….…

Ive been hit by both types of friendly on more than a few occasion. Mostly when close in on a con but just 2 days ago CV machine guns hit me on take off as a 110 suicided an escort ship. No structural damage that time:rolleyes:
