Title: Pentium or AMD Athlon DDR Processor 1.3???

I am buying A new P.C today and my girl friend and I are not seeing eye to eye on this one some input would be nice Thx....  :confused:

AMD all the way. They're 1.4 ghz t-bird BEATS the P4 1.7ghz in benchmarks... what else can I say?

Hi Rooster,
 I'm sure Skuzzy will correct me if I'm wrong but as I see it the main problem with the P4 at present is the fact it is a "Stop Gap" design. The next generation of P4's will probably not be compatable with the current crop. I always understood that Intel P3's generally have better chipset support than the current AMD range but again by current trends limited shelf life in todays market. I run an AMD Athlon 1GHZ and I am more than happy.

ok bought the new p.c yesterday whent with the Athlon.... Every one i talk too said about the same thing .. if you go over 1gig then your better off going w/ Athlon.... Thx for your help  TAC and SNAFU.....    :D   :D   ;)
