Title: Windows Task Manager Help - skuzz!
Post by: Tac on February 20, 2007, 11:42:42 PM
Skuzzy,

Ive been noticing that my task manager has a lot of 'svchost' things running at the same time

svchost.exe  LOCAL SERVICE 4.4k
svchost.exe  SYSTEM 2.9k
svchost.exe  NETWORK SERVICE 6.5k
svchost.exe  SYSTEM 38.4k (YES THIRTY EIGHT.4 K)
svchost.exe  NETWORK SERVICE 4.9k
svchost.exe  LOCAL SERVICE 4.4k
svchost.exe  LOCAL SERVICE 7.9K
svchost.exe  LOCAL SERVICE 4.4k

what is this? Granted its not much memory (i got 2 gigs ram) but i always wondered if this was normal or not.

I use Win XP Pro 64 Bit with an AMD 4400+ 64 bit dual core

Ive ran 3 different a-virus and 5 spyware/malware removers and all say my system is clean. I also have my system behind physical firewalls (2 routers).
