Seems everytime I'm in a arena and the "arena size" is about to change I get discoed. When I do get discoed I log back in to see the number of players larger than the arena size. Last night I got dicoed and tried to get back in and it shows 420/320, the other two times this month were similar.
It has happened the last few months like this (check my scores for the last few months). Can you figure out why I'm being Discoed everytime the arena size changes in the arena i'm in?
Is anyone else experiencing this?

yes, mainly in the Blue arena.
-
Does this not affect our scores?

How do you know that? The arena size cap could have changed a dozen times before your disco. While in an arena, you never know for sure if the cap is changing. Just because the cap is different when you are discoed and returning to the log-in screen, it does not necessarily have to mean that the resizing cap had anything to do with it.

Yep. It happens to me everytime there is a change in the arena size.

Lusche, I could see your point if once in a while I got discoed and the amount of people in the arena did not show more than the cap. But that isn't the case. Each and everytime I get discoed (3 times this month and all three times in a Tiger) and immediately try to get back in the amount of people it shows in the arena is way larger than the arena cap size. This is usually what it does when changing cap size to a larger cap.
Ironic

Wether a arena is up - or downsizing depends mostly on time of day and the corresponding number of players.
And still, you can not deduce that reduced cap has anything to do with your disco. CAP may still have changed a lot of times without discoing you. You are not able to see if the cap changes while still in an arena, so you won't notice it.
Not long time ago, I had more discos than I now do have. And I experienced the same thing: I wasn`t able to get back into the arena, with caps like 280/220. But source of that problem was my ISP, who disconnected me each day at about the same time, which coincidentally was a time when arena caps used to went down.
-
I dunno, one disco for every 21 hours of flight... the arena numbers are changing constantly- the caps are definitely going to be changing more often than once a day. I'd be running some pingplots and looking for issues between your house and HTC.
-
Would still like to hear from Skuzzy or Hitech on this as I have talked to a few others in the game who also have experienced this. Tired of losing Perks for getting discoed and just plain tired of getting discoed period.
-
Discos are up. I've been disco'd 4 times this camp and hadn't been disco'd in months before this. Vox issues are up as well. I and at least 2 squaddies have lost vox this camp and had to re-log to get it back. I've never had a vox issue before this camp.

68Ripper: There is no way the changing in arena caps are in any way related to your discos.
Why I am so sure of this is,
1. You are not connected to the computer that changes the caps.
2. Your front end is not notified of any change.
3. The computer you are connected to do not change anything when the caps change.

this is a new problem for me.
use adaware etc etc . daily to keep my motors clean!!
nothing on my end has changed.
but i have noticed that every time this has happened, i can,t get back into the arena i was just booted out of.

Many, many connection problems have their root somwhere on the long way between your end and HTC's end...

Try ping plotter. Check and see if there is a bad hop.

I don't get disco'ed all that much, but if I lose UDP or get kicked, 9 times out of 10 that I run PingPlotter immediately, I see something happening between my PC and HTC- high packet loss, pings changing wildly at Savvis or the first ATT hop, my ISP dying consistently at midnight on a Saturday, etc.
The intardnet is magic, and therefore prone to behaving strangely.
-
thanks guys
is ping plotter some type of downloadable program?
kinda naive when it comes to some of this stuff.
-
http://www.pingplotter.com
It's pretty straight forward, and easy to use. Small program that lets you see what's happening with your connection.
-
thanks hubsonfire!!!
will give it a shot.
appreciate the help.

I am having problems too. But i just started last night. But get disco'd only after getting kills. No kills I don't have any problems. All Off a CV.
-
I don't know if this applies to me, but for the last 3 weeks or so, I have been getting disco'ed a lot! Never had that problem before.
I also have some sort of "lag" logging in most weekends and during peak times. If there are over say, 200 to 300 people in an arena, it will let me in...but it just sits there. No chat text shows up, no one on the roster, no radar on the map, and after a few minutes it's "Host Connection Lost"-ville.
It's only when there are a lot of players on, and yes, it seems like when i DO get in and the arena caps change...I get the BOOT.
Never happened before the last 3 weeks or so.
Numerous (somtimes every day) virus, spyware, adware, malware scans with very good detection shows jack.
