According to this survey Kiwi's experience more personal freedom than you lot :) . And with all the 'nanny-state' accusations the UK does better than the US overall as well. Of course looks like a slightly leftie-tree-hugging-whale-saving-man-hating-lesbian survey - so I doubt gun 'rights' were taken into account :P

A long as I can keep and bear arms I will always have more freedom than anyone who cannot.

I'm a little confused as to the rankings? What group of retards did they assemble to slap some numbers on a piece of paper?

Thats an extremely over simplified statement, typical of the american parochial viewpoint.

Ah yes, Canada..the center of the civilized world

Well looking at that survey, it appears that the less your country
appears on the world stage, the better it ranks..amazing.

I have an HK USP 45, whatcha got?

I was quick to judge. The US doubled its place in the standing (I'd guess) based solely off of size of the government being factored in. Sounds about right to me.
-
ok, heres another, I feel free, about as free as anyone can be :D

I believe arms were freely available to men in Iraq, at least prior to the war. But how much freedom did they have? Not much...

I am a super highly intelligent prescient being. It does little good for you to try and impress me with your intellect. Been there, done that.

In exactly what country are citizens not allowed to own guns?

Oooh! That would be a nice side arm to my HK G3 assault rifle. I also have a Mauser M98 (not K), and a very nice old Russian side-by-side 12 gauge. I sold the .45 and the MP5.

1 Estonia

Didn't help the people at Ruby Ridge or Waco when the feds came knocking. Perhaps it better not to have them come knocking in the first place?

They didn't factor in the kiwi traffic cameras that mail you a ticket for driving 1 mph over the speed limit...If they had more guns they could shoot the cameras down, thats what we do in the states at least...

I like that result especially as we are in second place. To be fair it's all much of a muchness for top 20 or so. Small countries like my own seem to do better overall. In small countries it's harder for the politicians to distance themselves from the people. Smaller countries need inward investment so freedom is very important to attract that investment. That's why there are so many in the top ten.

LOL! No. I actually owned the MP5, it wasn't the army's. I've been involved with the practical shooting scene up here for a while now, but (again) I don't really have time to train and compete on the same level as the rest of the guys. I sold the .45 and MP5 to a friend who's passionately into IPSC. I'll just have to be content with blowing away a few animals now and then. ;)
