Well, it seems I am joining those who have wife ack....
Oddly, this is likely to have me play AH more and WoW less due to time investments..
And yes, I know, diamonds... But she wanted it and I found it hard to say no. Well, impossible actually. It isn't very big, but she likes it.
Eeep. I am going to go back to being nervous.

wtg Karnak, congrats!
It's already a good thing you got her something that doesn't look like a military airplane :)
-
Yeah, that, um, wouldn't have flown.
And thanks for the congrats. :)
-
We need a quarter in the pic to give some perspective on the size. ;)
My wife is a huge shiny rock lover. Whenever I hear the words, "I saved you alot of money today" I cringe and ask how much I needed to SPEND to save that cash, especially if she has been jewelry shopping.
-
congratulations karnak
-
Curval,
It isn't big, but it is the one she picked out, so....
Storch,
Thank you.

Congrats and your wife to be has excelent taste in jewelry. You poor bastage.............. :p
BTW being married isn't bad at all as long as you choose wisely. Choose poorly and you'll find out why some men don't mind dying before their spouses..... :O

WTG congrats!
Best thing I ever did. Well that and and a girl I knew long ago that was WAY outta my league.

Welcome to the club and congratulations.

The wifeack variable remains stuck at 5.0 and cannot be modified. All attempts to reduce this setting are futile. ;)
Bug reports for the above setting have so far been ignored.
Good Luck. :D

Congrats Karnak!

Karnak,
You and your to-be just won a free bay tour via SR-20 riding out of Hayward. Congrats!

Congratulations. I used to laugh at the wife ack comments. Then I got married and now she always arrives just as I dive into the biggest furballs ever seen. She knows damm well too and always fires a salvo as she passes. She is well into ace territory at this point.
Now she's dropped a thousand pounder, well 6.6 pounds, Jack born last Saturday. Our first child all of six days old. Baby flak is far more accurate and deadly. I'm practically grounded at the moment. But never mind. I have a boy and I can mould him into mean fighting machine of the future..
It's all ahead of you.
-
Congrats Bud!!!!
-
Congratulations Karnak!
You’re not getting off this easy though, we’ve got to know what kind of a woman marries a Karnak? Where and how did you meet her? How long has this been in the works? What does she do for a living? Could she tell us anything about the Mosquito sub-variants? Can she predict the future and does she wear a turban?
-
good bye life, hello love!

Thank you all for the congratulations.
cpxxx,
Congratulations on the arrival of your son and first child. It sounds like life is treating you very well indeed.
eskimo2,
She is Indian, which is making this quite an interesting experience. I met her through my sister several years ago after they met in a class in college. Things really started picking up last year and now I am in India about to finalize everything on Monday in a ceremony completely different from the one I have been culturally prepared for as I grew up.
No turban though. Funny enough, I will probably have to wear one on Monday for a bit. ;)
-
Wow! That’s just amazing! Are you going to live in India? Are you going to have a traditional Hindu ceremony?
-
No, we'll be living in the US. But as her family is in India we are getting married here. We will be having a reception in the US for my relatives.
Yes, it is a Hindu wedding, which I am told by her is quite boring. We'll see. I am handing my camera to her brother so he can take pictures during the event. I'll share some of them later. Her family is spoiling me though, it is definately not American here. ;)
I won't be allowed to see her at all tomorrow and the wedding is on Monday.

Ahhahahahahahha sucker.

I went to a wedding in India a while ago, but it wasn't a traditional Hindu affair as the bride was hindu but the groom was muslim.

I was in Mumbai four days....slept a total of about seven or eight hours. I didn't think Indians drank that much! Amazing experience though.
-
Congratulations Karnak :aok
Hope all goes well and you both live a happy and fruitfull life. I understand a little about weddings in other countries myself ;)

I think that you will be anything but bored; it sounds pretty darn interesting actually. Will any of your family members make it to the wedding? I can’t imagine your best man had the time, cash and a passport to fly to India for this… Are you leaning on a brother-in-law for this, or do Hindi weddings have best men? Where exactly in India are you? I want to Google earth it. Have you learned any Hindi, or do enough people there speak English that it’s not a problem? Could I ask any more questions?
Before my wife and I were married we had an engagement party/luau in Alaska for my friends my parents friends and extended family. We were married in Ohio which is over 4,000 miles away. My immediate family, best man and a few friends and relatives from throughout the US mad it to Ohio. I can’t imagine how much more complicated and restrictive it must be to pull this off in India.
Anyway, thanks for sharing. This sounds pretty cool and I look forward to the pictures.

Karnak,
Lemme get this straight. You're getting married. Cool. Did you really have to OUTSOURCE the wedding?!?!?!?!?!?!
:O :O :noid :furious
-
Karnak, thanks for the comments.
A Hindu wedding? The only experience I had of one was as an extra in a movie. It featured a Hindu wedding scene and the lucky couple stayed sitting on a form of dais with throne like chairs, all night. Meanwhile everyone else danced and sang and drank. I asked one of the Indian extras, was it authentic and she said it was.
Not a bit like an Irish wedding I can tell you.:D
Good luck and enjoy it.
-
congrats Karnack
-
I would like to offer my condolence......errr congradulations

Congrats to both Karnak and cpxxx.
I have to agree baby ack is far more deadly. I couldn't get off the ground for almost two years. The wife ack misses some times and other times can just be evaded. Baby ack, you're done. Just when you start to recover they want to sit on your lap just as you're tring to make a shot.
I could go on.....:aok

The good thing about baby ack is that after reconfiguration & modifications, the ack can be turned around and used to your advantage instead of in opposition to you. My ack models are now 8, 10, & 13 years ~ all of them are better than me in a plane...
So, i could spawn to resupply a base... as soon as you spawn ~ "Hey, come over here for a sec... will ya? Get this thing over to the base & drop the supplies for me?"
Just a hug & a kiss & a "great job" and they'll do it for you each & every time! =)

Congratulations Karnak!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding, Karnak. May you both enjoy a long and happy life together!

Thank you all for the congratulations. Internet service is sometimes iffy in India and then I was, um, sequestered away from any computer until the wedding. Then there were other things to do....
Anyways, I had help from one of her cousin's husband.
It started outside and there were some bits with her parents washing my feet and marking my forehead, then I marked her father's forehead. After that her uncles carried her out and we stood with a sheet separating us so that we couldn't see eachother. Then that was dropped and we exchanged rings and she gave me a gold necklace. We then sat with her at my right for a bit while the priest chanted some. After being mutually bound with a white cloth we sprinkled oil on a fire to the priest's chanting. Then walked around the fire, sprinkled more oil, walked around it five more times and then stood with her at my left and the priest chanted some more. Then we sat and she was my wife. Then we went inside and people came up and congratulated us, we touched the feet of some of the older people to recieve their blessings. Photos where taken with each group. This went on for hours and she was getting pretty tired of smiling.
I am returning to Mumbai from Pune tomorrow and flying back to the US. I will post photos once I am there.
Thank you all again.

Sounds similar to a buddhist wedding, ours took 2 days (normally they're 3 days).
-
WTFG Karnak! Glad everything came out alright there for ya, you two have a safe trip home.
-
Congratulations... ring size means nothing.... thought and feelings toward eachother is everything....
-
Congrats! That diamond looks like a color rating A or B!
