At first I found no major problems with the newest version 103 update, but now as soon as I click on the AH icon on the desktop or in the programs start area the modem immediately dials the net even before I get to choose "Offline" or "Online".
I have also noticed that this seems to appear to corrupt my Saitek Automatic Aces High Stick set up such that a few keys no longer work correctly. I am assuming this is a result of being loaded at the same time the dial up is taking place. I can close out and reset Saitek, but it will get changed after a couple of start ups.
Any idea on how to fix this problem? I have rebooted.

Bob,
I'm pretty sure what is happening is because RW starts any time you launch Aces High, Windows is starting your dial up connection to be able to connect with RW.
In your dial up preferances there is a place you can disable "automaticly connect to the internet" or some thing like that. I haven't had a dial up connection for awhile so I forget exactly what it is called.
Now disabling this feature will force you to manually start up your dial up connection before you connect to the internet with your browzer or when you do want to play Aces High online.

Thanks for the help, but I did check to not automatically connect to the net on dial out.
The problem is that AH still opens the dial up window giving you the option to dial out, and also tries to start up Roger Wilco before I even have a chance to choose online or offline. This action conflicts with my Saitek joystick profile start up which tries to startup at the same time. As a result several views and keys do not work. I can usually get around it by quiting, leaving Roger Wilco and the attempted dial out window up, and then starting again to load the Saitek, but this is a real problem.
Is this a problem with just my installation or does everyone find their computer immediately dialing out even before they get to choose online or offline?
I did not have this problem for the first couple of days.
I noticed the next patch will have an option to not load Roger Wilco, but that won't solve the problem of an immediate dial out.
Is there some file I need to delete and reconfigure?
Thanks

Bob,
The RW starting whenever you start AH is a feature, it's supposed to do that and you can't stop it. If I understood Pyro correctly in the news about the next patch, you will be able to disable the autoloading of RW.
As far as the dial up window goes, I know that there is a way to make it not come up, I just don't remember what it is. I don't have dial up networking installed so I can't even mess with it to figure it out. Post this over on the Internet Connectivity forum and I'm sure Skuzzy will help you with it.

The auto dial up feature is in the program itself. Not something you can change out of it. IE, Netscape, and mail programs let you set this to not automaticaly dial out. We will just have to wait till the next release to be able to disable the automatic dial out process.

Ranger Bob mine did the exact same thing, the only way I got around it was to uninstall Roger Wilco for now (didn't really matter puter not fast enough to run game online anyway (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif) I think I read in the next release they are going to put a switch in so you can manually start Roger Wilco rather than it starting automatically

Thanks, at least I know it's not a computer problem on my end.

Your lucky day :
The dial up connection box that comes up , the front page of it . Make sure you uncheck the dial up on box (auto?) on the front . I beleve its the bottom box .
Next go to settings : I beleve again its the top radio dial that says "never dial up" bah bah on start up I think .
Then apply and your done . When you start the game dial up won't start , and when you press E it won't start either . I have a short cut on my task bar that I click .
Internet exporier>tools>internet options>Never dial a connection
Another way to get there (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
I knew that you could do it as I didn't use the wizard for my dial up connection till today then I had your problem .
I just did it and it don't show up now . hehe . So unless I use the wizzard again can't trace my moves word for word but it's in the settings thats found on the front of the dial up connection .
cheers spro

Fantastic!
Thanks for the help. I had set not to automatically dial out, but the setting for Never Dial Up seems to have done the trick at least until they come out with the updates in the next patch.
Thanks again guys.
