ROFL Mussie!

WTG Schatzi! I'm going to have to try that next time I'm in the TA.

Sled, at least you didnt have sex with the cat while your girl was watching, that would be ... sick. Of course, if you did, I know where you can sell the pics at.

BTW, this wasnt put up to display my 1337 8om83r 5k1llz, a couple of my squadies said they wanted to see it & I thought others might like to see it also.

It does raise the question of game accuracy. In WW2, could a lancaster actually land on a carrier? I for one say no.

If the WW2 pilot had had an infinite amount of Lancs and lives, he might have made it too :).

It is probably is a possibility, if the wind was strong enough, and if the lanc. was low on fuel (low weight). I bet it could be done.

BUT,

In real life, they would probably just ditch right next to the ship, jump out,  and let the ship pick them up. much safer to all involved. mostly the crew on the ship.

Nice landing Rolex, I have seen JRCCrow, and a few others do it to. Not really that hard in AH.

I would like to have seen someone try that in real life.

I was bored on a squad when I was in CAF, we were waiting for the 9pm start.
Scotch and I were drinking and we talked about going through hangers inverted.   I managed on the first try to fly a B-26 inverted (I did ditch the bombs).

With a little practice, you can land an RV-8 on Cruiser's aft turret and takeoff again.....

I've done it with an A6M2, it was more of a touch and go.

I have witnesses for landing a F4U-D on the back of a crusier, behind the rear gun and in front of the crane. Did that in FSO, Kermit was one of the witnesses. Only gives you a ditch.

Lamcaster's???? Sure why not, this thing is bigger than a Lancaster and they did it no problem.

Hmmm........ Well, remember.

Today's carriers are quite a bit bigger. The C-130 has MUCH more braking power. The C-130 also has reverse thrust.  A BIG factor.

I think the Lancaster could have done it, but it would have taken very favorable conditions and a pilot with strong nerves.

I once watched a super-cub take off with NO forward movement on the ground. (strong head wind)

:)

You can also land a B5N on the rear deck of a Destroyer. Any time you land on any ship but the CV, you'll get a ditch.
