I would like to have a new button map option to open the clipboard with the E6B already in view... This way, if I am in a fight, rather than opening the clipboard and then having to grab my mouse and click E6B, I would have a simple button on my stick or keyboard that opens it with the E6B showing.
Now, before everyone jumps in to tell me that I can open the E6b and leave it open on my closed clipboard, I already know that... But we don't always know when we may need it, and more often than not I find I have to open it in a bad situation.
I think this would be a handy option, and along the same lines, one that opens the clipboard and issues the .sr in one stroke would be nice also... Jeez, actually there are a lot of pages that would be handy to be mappable.
Thanks.

Wouldn't hurt, good idea.

hmmmm......i like it :aok

I've never really needed to see my E6B 'that quickly', where just a second or two clicking would matter either way.
However that said, if there was such a feature, I would certainly use it.
Like it :aok

i say yes to it too, also bring back the map in the hangar, its annoying to go back and forth between the tower and hangar to choose a plane for a feild (eg. u just find out that a crutial feild is being gooned so u want to up a plane or gv but u then have to type in a .move command or go to the tower to change feilds)

um, yes, but, why do you need your E6B open during a fight? You can feel weight, you have an ASI, you have a fuel gauge... what does the E6B have nothing else does that you need during a fight? Just curiosity...

Its not open, I just need to pop it open and close it quickly... I don't care what my weight is, I either can, or I can not pull the turn, the E6B isn't going to make me lighter... Its all about duration.
In fighters - Flight time remaining.
in bombers - the spot-on true airspeed.
In a dog fight, if I'm getting near the end of my fuel, I refer to the E6B for the official word on how much longer.
In the bomber, true speed is everything for calibration - when under attack, true speed can vary, I don't want to have to let go of the stick in a gun and try to work the mouseto know if something is changing. I just want to hit a button and get the news. Is it so hard to understand?

And that is why I always klick on E&B right at takeoff. Takes no time, and I have all the needed info everytime I press the map button on my joystick, no need to use the mouse at anytime. :aok

Um, yes it is. In a bomber, I always have my E6B open, and I have yet to fail a drop. (Granted, I have missed once or twice, missing 1 VH, but I have always been able to do a 180 and take it down in that flight) And in fighters, I get to know my plane, so I can look at that fuel gauge and know just how long I have left. Im not disagreeing with it, im just questioning the necessity. If you know your plane, there is no need for it.

With a mil power fuel burn of 550 gph, I personally fly with the E6B open almost all the time and just cycle the clipboard away when I tangle. That way, since I know my plane, I can read the exact gallons remaining, and do some quick math to know when I need to go home, and at what power setting. And yeah, I can make a quick guess by looking at the needle, but if its a choice between one last pass or leaving, I need the actual digits. This allows me to get back without the FAA mandated 30 minute VFR reserve. Nothing's more satisfying than the engine dying as I'm braking to a halt after picking up that one last kill. I like the idea Kurt, absolutely...I'm just running out of buttons to map to.

Thanks stoney...
My opinion really, is that everything conceivable should be mappable. But since thats unlikely to happen, at least the different clipboard pages would be a good place to start.
