Hahahaha:rofl :rofl :rofl

Right at the start of that film I noticed that I had landed 3 kills in the buffer. Same kind of attack on a group of B-26's with me in a Dora. Only differance is the guy I shot down didn't cry about it afterwards.

Nice attack profile there Lusche, that's how it's supposed to be done, but dang it you need to get rid of that funny connect of yours or else:furious  It's too smooth!!!! No warping or anything. How is poor Mike going to be able to explain how he lost his 3 cartoon airplanes without you warping all over the place and obviously doing something to deny him his chance at glory??? Huh how do you explain that mister??? We're waiting!!!!:O

OK sarcasm is off now. Nice flying there sir.

My view shows something totally different. I see him diving through tons of fire with no hits. I do not have the film to prove it, but I will from now on. I would guess a fraction of a second difference in connection to the server would make what the two people see for location slightly different.  I'm sure it's just my connection since lifers stick together! Cartoon planes? Who spends their life reading and posting on a BBS the player with  749 posts ?

As far as I know.
The game is run on your front end. The sever is just an info transfer point.
So.....If you put hits on him it sends that info to the server then to him . Then bad guy go poof.
IF you it him he goes down.

Lusche, HT will surely cancel your sub for that one...hitting your target without dying is strictly disallowed...what do you have to say for yourself!?

anxiously awaiting Mike's post on this one :D

I alwas get a little anxious when theres a 190 on my six.  Ofcourse I do usually manage to wipe em out after the first pass though. So I think mike just needs a little more practice. It happens. He probable got a little nervious and over compansated for the dive angle and speed.

OK Mike1959 in game and Bobby on the BBS huh?  You see him dive through tons of fire with no hits. Know why?? Because you MISSED. It's right there on the film. Quit crying about it.

And yes I spend alot of time on here reading the boards, what's your point?

The A8 has fairly good frontal armor. If you combine that with decent gunnery and good angle of attack and this is what happens.

You have to figure that one out....

The point is from everything I was seeing he should of been blown to bits. My stats say I don't miss in bombers very often. We both have a lag time from what appears on our screens to what the server is seeing. He was closer to me and at a slightly different location than I see him. He's not cheating, that's just reality. A 32nd of a second at 450 MPH is feet.  The game is not perfect. If I had filmed the fight, my film would not be the same as his.  I just have to learn to compensate quickly. He's a long time player who knows.

Lag is not the issue, your gunnery on a pilot who knows how to use speed and angles is.

How can you refer to "my view" if you don't have a film?

I agree with you on your comment of Lusche diving through "tons of fire with no hits". It wasn't some kind of sorcery...you just didn't land hits. It happens.

I think one problem many buff gunners have (including myself) is that tracers are much more misleading than in fighters. A bad buff gunner myself, I had many times a similar impression. My enemy just seemed to wade through my fire, my tracers seemed to be perfectly on target. The problem was: It only "seemed".
Tracers are even more misleading in buffs than in fighters, especially as the screen can give you no really depth perception. From my (gunners) point of view, the tracers are on target. Watching my films in external view centered on my enemy, I could see that in fact most bullets where missing my target by quite a huge margin, going over or under the target.
And an occasional .50 hit is usually not enough for a plane like the A8, that's why it is my fav buff hunting ride.

But to discover such knowledge, you have to develop a mindset where you don`t blame HTC/connection/enemy"hacker"/whatever every time you suffer a virtual death in this game

The server has NOTHING to do with that. The servers does not see anything, the server does not decide if you hit or not. The game would almost impossible to play for most people if the server had any authority on these things.
If you hit your enemy on your screen, he is hit. Regardless on his position on his own FE. I have tons of films where  bullets pass my plane by a big distance, but I still hear the hit sounds and go down. Because on his FE my enemy did hit me.

And I wasn`t even complaining (well, not really ;)  ). The film was posted with consent of all involved parties to allow technical analysis of a combat. This threat didn't even went downhill like they usually do... :huh

You can jump into other planes in the film.

But be very careful when drawing any conclusions from it. It's just from their viewpoint, it's not their view. Your enemy may still see things quite different on his FE.

Yep and as the old saying goes...What you see on your FE isn't necessarily what the other guy sees on his FE.

One of the greatest lessons I've learned in playing online games.
