I just joined a fantasy baseball league. I guess I'm putting a team together this weekend.
You know all those times when you get into those things that you know NOTHING about, and later wish you could go back & change something about having created the set-up for it... but it's already too late?
Before I do any of that with this baseball thing, y'all have any of your own if-i-had-only-known-not-to-do-thatisms?

LOLOLOL, I did really specifically mean about the whole espn sports leagues. But hey, all of y'all who have something in the if-i-had-only-not-done-thatisms which don't have anything to do with the whole sports thing... have at it. :)

Hi TMom
You never know how you might do on the fantasy league. Guess your best and make the trades as you can if you need to. Some times begginers luck will make better rankings than many pro picks. Use your WOMANS INTUITION!! Good luck.

If only I'd known that AH was so dammned addictive, I would have passed right on lol

ok never did fantasy baseball but i did play at fantasy football for awhile.
tips
1. Dont put all your eggs in one basket. Although you will try to draft the best players, be realistic and have a ready selection of 3 or 4 players deep for each position when possible. 1st choice, 2nd Choice and so on.
had a doc that was a big Eagles fan, picked QB Cunningham from the Eagles (1991 - 92?) 1st or 2nd week of regular season Cunningham broke his leg...he didnt spend a lot of time on his backup QB and he was less than inspiring (i think it was Boomer)
2. Make sure you research your picks before you draft. especially injury reports.
3. Be prepared for the unexpected. Keep a list of emergency what ifs. During one football draft (several years ago) a guy wanted to draft a certain player. On the day we had our draft that player was injured (accident) some of us knew but didnt tell him :lol hey the draft is cutthroat and part of the game...
4. consider all players, even if they are not your favorite team. example, I'm a Dallas fan, in 1990 I had Troy Aickman and Emmett Smith and Michael Irvin and Jay Novacek (naturally) I also had Gerald Riggs of Washington for one of my backs, and Warren Moon from Miami as my backup QB... I ended up using Moon as my starter when Troy just wasnt working out for me in 1990. 1991 was a much better year..

It really is, isn't it? I deleted my account a few weeks ago (yes, I think that was the same week my posts on the BBS increased). My husband has an account though, and a few times I've logged onto his account.
