Ok so I'm scanning the tube and I stop briefly at CNN and at the end of a report the guy says "of the $110 Billion in relief approved for hurricane Katrine about half has allready been spent"
Now I understand it allways costs the govt more to do something than a private firm but still.
We've spen 65 BILLION and from what I hear there's not much improvment.
How many houses can you build for a Billion dollars.
You could build 10K $100000 priced homes. for a Billion. TEN THOUSAND HOMES! and that's brand new from scratch type homes.
I know homes sell for alot more than that now adays but if you got a builder to do it on contract and they knew they were making X profit where's the hitch? and that's just 1 of 110 Billion alotted.
Not to mention all that construction has to be a kick start for the local economy. It requires alot of workers. Those workers need food and places to stay and so on.
There really needs to be some more oversight in this that all this money isn't being pissed into the gulf.
Lastly I havn't calculated nore know if some of that cost is being put into rebuilding the levies.

You can buff up a **** all you want, but...
-
Reason 150 bajillion why you don't want the government to have your money.
-
The insurance companies are screwing over the people hit by Katrina
-
Yeah, damn those insurance companies for not giving out money they are not contractually bound to.
DAMN THEM TO HELL.

Who needs insurance companies when the federal govt is forking over enough cash to rebuild everything from scratch it seems.
Other than that those who don't have the coverage arent covered. I havn't heard anything otherwise how people are getting screwed by them.

The insurance companies should live up to their contracts.. the government should stay out of the whole mess except to make sure the insurance companies live up to their legal contracts.
This is what happens when government gets involvec.. billions are spent in feel good do nothing cluster f....s and in the end.. all the little baby birds are still cheep cheep cheeping for more.

I'm game. I'll be the Project Manager who sits back and goes to school and makes all the profit. You can be the superintendant on the ground in N.O. .
Good Luck, I'll be praying for you.

flatbar.. you don't have to speak the language or... even have any skill.. It's a government job and it will pay prevailing wage so you don't even need to hire illegals.
plenty of government waste for everyone to dip their beak in.

Here at the local drivers license bureau, there were 6 people working ( sitting, state paid seat warmers) there and I was the only customer there.
Now go south about 40 miles, there is another DL bureau that has 3 people working there, and an average of 6-10 people waiting to be served constantly throughout the day.
Go figure
