Or Hrvatsko Ratno Zrakoplovstvo (Croatian Air force). It's a small air force for but we are also a small country.Anyway this video is a presentation of it, and shows why i will probably be joining it in a year or two.

Hey Duh, slightly off topic, but since your are Croation, I just wanted to find out if you have ever been to Vukovar and how does it look these days?

It is still being repaired as it was totally destroyed during the war.And it's still the poorest city in country.

Very cool. Love the old MiG-21's, great airplane. Best of luck.
-
Well I don't think I'll be flying Migs because the government is buying Gripens.

Some friends of mine missed Miroslav Radic by a hairs breath after being told to grab him for the Hauge, He eventually ended up there.
Great video though !

What a/c is the demo team flying. Looks really similar to the US T6 A Texan II

Croatia is awsome!!! I was in Split for a few days back in 2001. I had a blast while I was there. Hope to go back one of these days.
Good luck on the Air Force thing.

The Gripen is my current "fav. plane today". It is a graceful fighter.

Nice looking plane, even better looking weapons on the first pic. Good luck with the air force Duh!

While the Gripens are great they should keep those old 21s as well. Get the French or Israeli to upgrade them with modern radar and weapons, and those MiG’s would be great interceptors for such a small country as Croatia.

Mig 21 - 1385 mph (Mach 1.8)
Gripen - Mach 2
The Gripen exceeds the Mig 21 in performance and can stop within 800m.

Top speeds like that are irrelevant. In RL you very rarely see anything above M 1.2. I'm sure the Gripen can out turn the MiG but the biggest tactical advantage are in the weapons and range.

So, it is possible that the Mig 21 could get "up to speed" (say M 1.2) faster?
Not being confrontational, just trying to learn something new I guess.

There is something wrong with the math on your MiG speed figures. The F-16 is a Mach 2 fighter and has a top speed of 1320 mph. I believe your Mach 1.8 figure is calculated for sea level atmosphere, not at altitude where the speed of sound is slower. The MiG-21Bis (the main production version) has a top speed of Mach 2.05. Earlier versions had top speeds of up to as much as Mach 2.3.
