Title: WWII fighter pilot's jackets website?
Post by: DiabloTX on March 02, 2007, 08:39:50 PM
Anyone know of a good site to shop for leather/wool fighter pilots jackets with nose art on the back?  I know they can be $$$ but it's time to feed the need for speed while I drive the Z and look cool, too.

Last year I bought a custom G-8 (M440) in sealed brown goat skin with thinsulate layer and custom lining from flightjacket and I love it!!! Top quality - easily worth the price (plus the 150USD shipping to Switzerland  )

Lots of "real" pilots have been buying from Pop's Leather for many years.  My issue leather jacket received a custom mod treatment from Pop's Leather.

They're not cheap and I'm not sure they have exactly what you're looking for, but lots of real fighter pilots are wearing these jackets because of the quality custom jobs they do.

I have a Cooper A-2 flight jacket. Only downside is it's very lightweight and not for cold weather. I want to get a G-1, those were Navy issue and a lot warmer. Cooper Sportswear has gone out of business and they are pricey now. http://www.bestglide.com/cooperpage.htm
