In sweden its called ADSL not DSL, dunno what the A stands for tough :)
Oh ya i got ADSL...
-
56.6 if the wind is blowing right otherwise somewhere in the neighborhood of 42.5k . But 3 hops to a backbone and consitant latency ;) :) (makes all the difference in the world.)
I played on a 9600 modem and no one warped while I was playing and no one complained about me warping. Skuzzy and I talked about it and he couldn't approve of it cause 14.4 is the lowest approved speed. In todays MA I don't think it could be done. The furballs are bigger.
The key is not the fastest line with the biggest bandwidth but a consistant low latency connection :) :)

cable - 128k up, 720k down... :-(

Dial-up. 33K usually.

aDSL going to Sprint Wireless Broadband, and for Maniac here in the us it is aDSL most don't realize it unless they know they are paying for sDSL,
asyncronous Digital Subscriber Line or syncronous DSL.
asyncronous, meaning differing speeds, you download faster than you can upload.
syncronous, meaning the same speeds, you download and upload at roughly the same speed.

FrontierNet ADSL,<1 mile from the LSO, area with HUGE competition with RoadRunner. :)
3 Mbps max downstream, 1.0 - 1.5 Mbps average in practice.
128 Kbps upstream. 100 average. (BLECH!)
Don't believe you can get 3 Mbps for $40? Check here- http://www.frontierlightninglink.com/roch/lightningDSL.shtml (http://www.frontierlightninglink.com/roch/lightningDSL.shtml)

Here's a great test link for the east coast: http://www.ba-hss.com/speedtest/test500.asp (http://www.ba-hss.com/speedtest/test500.asp)
I just got 2020 Kbps down, 294 Kbps up. That makes me thinkI must have a 384 K theoretical upstream.

Cable, Dont care how fast as long as its fast enough for online gameing.
-
56K ISA ZooM modem.
52,000bps connection usually.
Ping times average about 170ms to HTC's main and alternate routes.
Packet loss is zero. DUN settings tweaked as much as possible using TweakAll, TweakDUN and some registry 'hacking'.
Anything faster doesn't matter for Aces High too much.
