???????????
-
because its very important......idk
-
Because it's extremely important that your bandwidth be consumed by the garbage that mostly fills it, much like the range radio. If you didn't have your comms turned on, how on earth would you know that Skyrock owns all the noobs, or that squeaker1337z wants you to deack a friendly base?
-
Cause we like to watch "nubs" argue with Karaya :)
-
It really is sad how all these people are ruining your massive multiplayer
online game experience by interacting. If only we could get rid of all those
pests...sigh.
-
Given some of the "interacting" that goes on... I don't blame him for asking. :)
-
Channel 200 is completely optional.
Then squelch the offenders on country channel.
-
... because it contains important system and game interface messages in addition to the chat text.
You can get it to a three line size with ~ key. You can drag it to any inconspicious corner of the screen with left mouse click and hold. You can adjust its transparency in the OPTIONS > PREFERENCES > GUI on your clipboard.
-
I didn't know about the transparancy, thanks :)
Will usually drag the textbar below the screen, still there but unnoticable
-
I want to turn it OFF !!!!!!!! :furious
Sometimes.......:p
-
Better not do that Lead, you can't turn anything ON :D
-
Drag chatbar to bottom of screen & cover with gaffer tape does the trick. Also optional extra of writing in biro on tape something like "Whisky landed 46 kills in Ju87" which makes me feel better after a hard day.

:rofl Tell me you weren't laughing as hard as I was!

This subject MAY run direct parallel with requests for "permanant squelch" which has been repeatedly asked for and repeatedly denied by HTC. Some long threads have been posted- search if interested-.
HTC has stated that providing the ability to permanantley squelch someone from both text & vox, would be admitting that we have players that utilize these features in less than appealing fashion(not an exact quote- but somthing very similar). This is the very reason CH200 replaced open text. It gave people the option to tune or de-tune.
It seems to me that providing the ability to completely remove all text is probably in some way viewed in the same light.
I know- it doesn't make any sense to me either:huh
-
There should be a button bound to squelch whoever's keyed up at a particular moment. I would love that.
-
if you squelch everyone you basically get your wanted effect. :D
i squelch the idiots with useless info, although i'll have uless info as much as the next guy.
-
I can tolerate "trash talking". It's the folks that sound like Jon Anderson of Yes getting kicked in the nuts before going onstage that drive me nuts.

Dats da "Sopranos"
You need a frequency modulator/equaliser system to give everyone a deep, rich, hairy-chested baritone and sound like me. ;)

But my squelch file gets full before I can squelch all the teens:)
