Well, officially, at the age of 14, I have completed 4 solo flights in a Schweizer SGS 2-33A! I solod yesterday in one of the biggest rainstorms Ive seen out there, I couldnt see a thing out of my canopy because of the rain, and there was no lift, so I did 40 minutes of paterns, but hey! Who cares?!? I still solod!!! (p,s., im too tired to spell properly ;) )
-
you serious?
solo aged 14 must be some kind of record, wtg.
-
oh it must be nice not having to work and pay lots off bills.
oh i wish i was young and in America

Heh, most American kids don't have it like this. It ain't like you see on TV, anyway...

Congrats Serenity!
All the Best,
hap
p.s. Rog, I live in America, working a grocery store, and have never flown an airplane by myself.
-
Thanks all! And Roger, it wasnt that expensive, im not rich, nor is my family. I had to work for the money to fly, and I am fortunate enough to know a very generous man with 2 planes and his CFI. I flew for $10 a flight, not exactly expensive ;) Although after 38 flights (With weather the way its been, there hasnt been enough lift for more than a pattern) that $10 adds up :(

congrats serenity

WTG bud! Have my PPL-G...really fun way to fly. I bet you can't wait to get out of that 2-33 and into something more slippery.
-
Oh yeah! As soon as I get rated for auto-launch I should be ditching the 2-33 and flying a 2-32. And thanks all. Especially you ball, I know how hard that must have been for you ;)
-
Wow, they let you fly an airplane by yourself but you still need to be 15 and have a liscensed driver with you to drive a car.......

Anyway, Im excited because I get my wings from the USAF Auxiliary in two days... Im the youngest one in the squadron to earn them. The funniest part was, the pilot who towed me, his name was Elmer Udd. Im not kidding, ive seen his driver's liscence. And he looks kinda like Fudd too...

I swear, I once encountered a USAir pilot who looked 14. There's no way he was even shaving.

Just tell the chicks you're "Rafe". :noid

Congrats! I remember my first solo. Fun, exciting.
I remember saying you should save up some money to buy yourself a new computer, but flying lessons are a much better use of your money :)

Congrats.
It's even more satisfying doing something that you had to earn the means to achieve it. You learn the value of your dreams and reality for what it takes to be able to do something.
Oh and BTW, a flying date is a real lady killer especially looking at the city lights. :t

We have to be down 20 min. before sundown, or not land at all. The Army takes over the field at night. We dont really have city lights, but some GREAT waterfalls, and sunset flights up and down the beach...

We should clarify, this is a glider. Fixed wing you can't solo until 16, but the G rating will help you be dead on with your landings once in a powered aircraft. Congrats dude.

Yes, but ive got 'connections' to a Grob G-109B motorglider, which, being clasified as a glider despite its engine, I can solo at as soon as I have the skils... :)
