Too bad there are a bunch of planes on this list that never saw combat or weren't in production or never went into production until after the war.

Douglas B-23 Dragon (also converted to transport) and ugly to boot
North American B-28 (prototype 2, no production, testing for B-29)

Vought SB2U Vindicator (obsolete before the war began)
Vought TBU
Vultee TBY Sea Wolf

********Fighters*********

Grumman F7F Tigercat (nice plane, too late)
Grumman F8F Bearcat (another nice plane, too late)
Republic P-43 Lancer (few numbers, obsolete before the war began)
Grumman P-50 Skyrocket (1 plane, crashed during testing)
Northrop P-56 Black Bullet (2 built, one crashed, test plane)
Lockheed P-58 Chain Lightning (modified p38 Only one, unarmed, prototype was built)
Bell P-59 Airacomet (what, two examples?  failed)

GM / Fisher P-75 Eagle (14 built, no combat, and smurfy)
Bell XP-77 (two planes, cancelled,  another smurfy plane)
