The last time I remember getting all three bombers in one pass was back in AH1. I was in a CHOG from front left side pass and all three lancs blew up. Any one been doing any good killing all three bombers in one pass lately??

A couple of weeks ago I was flying my G14 and spotted 24's IB for our base...I took them on. I was coming from the side [Harder for him to hit me with his guns] little did I know he was AFK. I killed the left bomber...-turned rudder to the left- killed center bomber -turned rudder to the right- killed that bomber
I only had the 1 cannon [no wing cannons]

Just shot down 3 B17's in one pass in a BF-110 yesterday. :aok

Did it 2 or 3 times last tour. It is very easy, particulary B26 and Lancs.

I got 3 lancs on 1 head on pass in a Mossie with a rocket salvo a few tours ago.

Skyrock, in AH1 it was easy. Hit bubbles were gi-normous back then. Hell 600d was "close range" for fighters, and you were still in mortal danger until you passed 1.2k from an enemy fighter on your six. A lot has changed since then (for the better)

oh last week.

Its weird for me. I can take a cannon armed plane and concentrate the fire at the wing root, and get nothing. Then I can take an f6f and hit it, and it blazes easily. Im just not consistant at it. So mainly now, if I even try to down a buff, ill try to come in from 12 and hose the cockpit. Ive never killed 3 though. 2 once or twice, never 3.

It used to be that if you poured lots of ammo into the cockpit of the lead buff and blew it up, the other two would pop as well. Someone once told me that this was because the buff pilot had been killed.
I haven't had this happen in months and months, it seems. As for three in one pass, I have managed it in a Chog, Tempest, A8 and P47 over the last few months, always from the side and always pouring fire into the first drone (sort of hiding behind it so the pilot in the main buff won't get a bead on me), then the main buff , then the second drone. Risky business, but it works every now and then.

what kind of angle,alt and speed are you coming in at if you don't mind me asking.

3 is a lot harder to do than two, but i've done it several times in the last few tours, usually while flying a 51 funnily enough. just getting quick kills on the cockpit from high 6 and having enough time to get them all in one pass, firing from 900 yards in to 100 :p
i usually ram into one of them when i try though :D

I can do it in a 262 or 152, that's about it though and you have to get your angles just right or.... "SYSTEM: You have collided"

do you have to survive for it to count? I did it a few times last tour but I usually end up with oil all over the place and have to deadstick back to base.

Ive gotten a number of 3 in one passes, but then i drive around in the A8 with 30mm.

lol I miss read this post thought he meant flying with multiple bombers on a bom run.
I can't think of me ever killing all 3 bombers on a single pass, I think the best I've done was two of them.

I've done it several times lately with a 110. Fully loaded with cannons you can hose down three Lancs so easily it's almost horrifying. All you need to to do is close in a bit and fire while using the rudder to spray the area.
You can bring down bombers from a long way off too. The 110 is like an airborne Ostwind. You have to be careful though with friendly fighters arounds. I blew a B17 to shreds the other night only to blow up myself as my rounds found a pursuing friendly fighter and I was the victim of yet another killshooter.:(

With a lot of speed and an oblique setup you can get three 24s on fire in one pass even with a pony. Very much not easy to do.

The oblique attack (7 to 8 o'clock when you open fire) works best for me coalt with the buffs, and usually I am coming full tilt... because the attack fails to get all 3 more often than it succeeds, and I need plenty of E to roll over the buffs and come back down from their high six. Or to run like hell if it's 999000 or tatertot... not that there is anything wrong with that!
If you have to climb up to the buffs to get coalt with them... do something else. You are meat on the table regardless of what angle you come in on them. A 7 0r 8 oclock attack (or 5 to 4 o'clock) ends up on their dead six before you even open fire, if you are too slow.

About 6 months ago... FW190A8 VS B-26s and P38L VS B-24s (But with HVARs not Guns) Both 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock passes.
