Title: Plane crashes...so does PC
Post by: Raubvogel on October 18, 2001, 01:09:00 PM
PC has been locking up lately when plane hits the ground. I'll get the cracking sounds, then the screen freezes. Any ideas?

I am also getting this problem.   I'm not sure if its each time I crash or only when I crash when I'm also blacking out or near black out.  Nevertheless....its a turn the power off and reboot type of lockup. (very annoyning).

I have a PIII 866
Windows ME
512 megs of RAM
Radeon SDR w/32 Megs of Ram.

i maybe very wrong but this worked for me. Double check your bios settings for your card. I have nvidia vanta and when things were getting intense like crashing everything would freeze. on my card for bios settings everything having to do with video shadowing has to be disabled. My vid card is agp so i had to make sure the agp sizing in bios settup was set to the mgb size of my card which is 16. If you are attempting to overclock your cpu, core mem on vid card, mem on vid card or casche that maybe a problem too. I dont know your specs but it worked for me.
