i tried it today, it really wasnt all that much fun.
i called gianlupo a tard also, that bit was good.
but hmm,, being a smack tard really isnt all that great, mainly due to the lousey opposition.
i wont be going back that way.
i did get a couple of score tards, flying high over a furball in thier spit16s, a little bit angry and they squelched me, that bit was most fun.
-
That's nice. :huh
-
no, you got it wrong.
its not about being nice its about being a bastige, never being kind or honourable, never fighting fair, never caring for anything but your own score/fun.
not nice.
nasty.
got it?
-
You have to be creative when smack talking. The best one I have heard lately is when 90prf stated to BiPolar, "You're so hated, you have to get your hand drunk and buy it stuff, and even then you chance rape charges!" LMAO:aok

not bad, but still doesnt tempt me to convert to full time smack tard.
what gets me is the ammount of people that dont even notice when i was being asmack tard.
thats the sad part, most of the community EXPECTS smack tards on 200, and dont even notice another one joining the ranks.
says alot about our community.
-
It takes a pretty extreme behavior to stand out from the crowd of STMTs these days. I've seen racial slurs, all the usual remarks about lineage, and the character and morals of one's parents fill the buffer on a regular basis.
Kind of pathetic.
-
'STMTs', a new abreviation is born :aok

Actally batfink it only says alot about the portion of the community that really pays attention to ch 200.
I think in general we have a very good community. Lately I have been flying in EW where numbers are limited. Ch 200 talk can be very polite and respectful. Had a really good dogfight with Hornet33. I was in a Bf190F and he was in a Zeke.
I knew I couldnt turnfight him, tried to get some front quarter shots, he acused me of going for the Ho. So I thought I would drag him up to 20K where I should have gained the performance advantage. He knew what I was doing and RTB'd.
We discussed the engagement on ch 200 and he said he would up a 190f and I agreed to let him get to alt. We engaged at 10k first pass guns dry and had a really good dogfight.
another rook, Kronoes arrived and I asked him to let us do a 1 on 1 he agreed to watch only.
Often the "community" will respond with kindness and respect if approached that way. For the tards that won't, have a little fun with them or ignore them. Remeber most are young and should grow up eventually.
Focus on the good people we have.

Not saying everyone is a sweetheartbag, but there are plenty who fit the bill, and what is commonplace nowadays would have gotten an instamute when I started playing.
IMO, HT needs a couple of playermods in the MAs during the evenings, or add a few more words to the text filter.

B@tfinkV,
Seems like you do your flying do most of your talking.
Congrats on the kills you were inflicting on myself and several others last night. Salute.

Speaking of this and not to hi-jack this thread but I was in EW one night last week or the week before, low and slow in a F4F-4 when a 109 and a Spit approached with alt. The 109 came in and we had a great fight while the Spit stayed completely out of it. I was astonished! Sadly I got too slow, too unstable and augered.
Seeking revenge I set off from another base in a Spit V hoping to intercept the 109 on the way home. He made it before I reached him, but re-upped. He flew off away from base, away from ack while others also upped but they let me go engage without interference and we had another good one on one. The 109 finally took off my tail and as i was going down I somehow got the kill on him. Don't know what happened but at least I was 1 for 2 with the guy.
It was KONG and I gave him a big as I exited the arena but should have also saluted those who simply stayed away and let us play.

check your PM Bat.

I gave up on 200 in the LW's very recently. I tune rarely when the morons are away but I find myself objecting with how people interact, the accusations they throw about and the vocab they use. I compare it to smoking. You can bear others doing it when you do it yourself, but as soon as you quit, it just stinks.
It's a shame, there are some you can share a few witty ripostes with (like SkyRock there) and that can be enjoyable as it's all in good fun and forgotten minutes later but that's the only thing I miss
-
good posts vertex, baldeagle!
HB555 thank you for the kind words, i do mostly try to let my guns talk for me. im sure that if i was inflicting anything on anybody it was mostly luck and i got killed soon after.

Yep. Most of the "trash talkers" use recycled and played out bits. Actually, I just bust balls, if someone cannot see through the sarcasm in life, they should really consider purchasing a road map.
It takes creativity.

Im still laughing about that one, but the best part had to be BiPolar going off on Range Vox afterwards. Obviously he's not very good at a "head to head" battle as 90prf kept trying to coax him into.
During that battle of words over 200 i realized that maybe i pay $15 just for the infinite supply of 1-liners i can come to expect from the AH community, the dog fighting and constantly getting shot down by furboll seemed to be a added bonus yesterday.

I find it hilarious if done tastefully. Family, race, religion are all off limit in my mind...other than that...game on.
-
I usually don't tune to 200 for the very reasons stated above....except....
Early in the A.M. when I have an extra half an hour I will search out one particular person who ALWAYS has an excuse as to why he gets sent back to the tower. Once in a while he even gets borderline nasty.
It’s really fun to shut (and shoot) someone down without getting crude…

Similar situation Sunday night I think it was and it was LW BLUE!! I got a couple of assists on some buffs and was RTB. Engine is dead but I'm trimmed out and should make it. I get about 10 miles out from the base and it starts flashing.. next thing I know there are ENY dots everywhere so I'm figuring it's a squad. A couple of guys close to guns range then just break off for guys upping from the field. I landed two assists, reupped, and got smoked in about 10 seconds.
Personally I wouldn't have been upset if someone had finished me off. I was suprised that they let me land.

hehehe, I actualy felt a little bad about the HO comment, but I wanted to find out who I was flying against. It was cool though. Vertex and I had a brief discussion, agreed upon a ride for a fight and went at it. Had a very tight knife fight going until I got just a little too close in the scissors and smacked into the bottom of his plane by mistake. Collision message and down I go, but it was fun. Again Sir for an honorable fight. Next time though your mine:aok :D

I pretty much had it with a certain someone thus why I made a comment..get sick of that persons crying on 200...if he doesnt 1 shot you or you kill him it MUST be a cheat. Which is why I started filming almost everything after I was accused of flying through the buildings in TT in a tiger doing 900 and killing said person....He swears up and down he has film of it which I would love to see. After I got pm's calling me everything short of papasmurfs thong. (the name is not disclosed to be PC). But I will get continued enjoyment killing him over and over. Stay far away from him in TT if I get killed by said( well unsaid ) person Im upping with heavy fighter just to ruin his day.

i hate it when there is no smack talking on 200 towards me for instance i was ina hurri2c in LWBlue i had one kill that was a 6 shot 2 that was a collision when they tried to HO and after the HO i had 1 elevator 1 aileron and only one gun i put one cannon round into a spit5s cockpit while my oil was hit and i couldnt see a thing and killed the pilot got chased home by a k4 when a friendly cleared him my engine quit and had to land it on one of the roads in the town near base and no one i mean no one got mad so at my desk i was like this :furious :furious
dont mean to make myself sound like a superb pilot that was a entire luck sortie :furious
-
I don't know why but I've only been PM'd once. It was after a claimed HO that was actually a deflection shot. I first got PM'd on vox (nasty bit of language), then text before I hit the report button for both. Then the tirade continued on 200. In fact, I seem to only get a 200 tirade directed at me about once every couple of months if that.
I do get the occasional "nice ram" or "nice HO" comment but that's usually it. A one-liner and if it's a collision I usually appologize and give the guy a because I hate collisions. They normally do more damage to me than my opponent and they just seem happen sometimes. I even appologize for the HO once in a while if I feel bad about it afterward.
Maybe it's because I don't usually say anything on 200 when I die (although I did give a guy a one-liner a few nights ago for ramming me while I was in a Tempest... which I later felt bad about when i checked his score and saw he was a noob). Maybe there's more and I'm just not seeing them because I mostly ignore the text buffer unless its a squaddie. Whatever the case I just don't seem to have a big problem with it like everyone else seems to (and please don't start in on me now just because I said that).

Hmm this person came on vox to me and expressed I just had the luckiest shot of my AH carrer...................
I actually, pretty much, found it humorous.
IIRC he was ina run90d runnin. I was in a f4u-1a. I chased him for awhile. Finally got within about 800 to 1 k and fired. Seems those 50's hit the pilot. Guess he didn't want to fly with a PW and so he went nose down and augered.
Informed me I would never catch his run90, no way............
-
When i first started playing this game in 2000-2001 i always liked to give and accept salute's after fights , it was a very common occurance even if it was a totally one sided fight , didn't matter people were generally respectful to one another .
Last time i played for any amount of time was about 8 months ago , i couldnt stand the way people would talk to each other and tuned 200 out , but that is when i realized that the minute turn out 200 the game loses that feeling of "community" . I've always had some great friends on all side's off the map , most of the time using 200 was just to say or respectfully give one another a jab but when you cant do that the sense of camaraderie is gone .
Now i spend most of my "flying time" roaming the boards trying to help people with their computer issues , i don't want to throw in the towel and cancel my account but i cant seem to get back into a game where you have to either A) tune out the community ,or B) be prepared to defend yourself verbally after 50% of your engagements . to old friends...... 38maw

great batfink? def too kind mate!>>>only thing im great at is causing trouble on the boards, and starting a furball with the bish or rooks.
but youre right, when it comes to pure ch200 smack talkery gianlupo desribed my skills as 'tedious' which truly classes me far lower than the masters who must have started it all before i even had internet.
he might have been swayed by the fact i called directed alot of my low grade smack at him :)

Although I am going on 10 years in teaching, I still enjoy it very much. I have through the years understood that I definitely do not own all the students. I had an eighth grade student about 6 years ago that had an online computer job making more than I was teaching. I also had a seventh grade student around that same time who was running the computers for our 1600 student school. Being humbled by a student is just par for the course in teaching. It is part of what makes people do this type of a job, it's surely not the pay! By the way, I taught integrated and advanced science for 6 years and I am now teaching health. I have coached basketball, track, volleyball, football and tennis but I had to drop the coaching to take care of my two children.

It was furboll, hard to get an id mixed up after being shot down by the same person 3 times in a row. Only reason that happened was i declared war on La7s, so i dove in on every one of them i saw and well i really only fly a 109F4(and not very well mind you) and he made short work of me each time.

Well, yes, I did own sometimes as a coach. I had a track team once, girls team I might add, and we beat a team that hadn't lost at home in 18 years. We ended up edging them out by 3 points, now in track 3 points is a real tight race! It came down to the 4 x 1600 and we had to win it to beat them. Victory is sweet. Also, again coaching girls, we took a team with a 3-27 record and won the state championship with them in 4 years! I do not wish to caoch anymore though, it takes way too much time and not enough pay. I am a single father of two kids so I don't have time for coaching either! I most enjoy teaching advanced science!

Well, I do take credit for popularizing a few phrases. I'm pretty sure I brought the use of the word "twit" to prominence in AH and the phrase "<----owns!" is now close to being my trademark. I am working on my next phrase now, to be released on ch200 sometime in the next two weeks!:D

stang, phan, silat, sketch are the only ones i have flown in the MA at the same times as.
none of them are smack tards. they may all be cocky, mouthy, kill stealing scumbags but they aint smack tards as to my understanding of smack.
shane was definitely a smack tard grade A oldskool, i once was winging with shane in P47s in the main, he was heavy with ord for some reason, and 5 mins in to the flight he was roping a niki for me. i missed the shot and the niki looped down after him and i followed as best i could evetually making the shot and clearing him. i joked on country 'sorry i couldnt clear ya quick enough' and any normal person would have automatically replied 'hey no bother he died thanks for clearing me'....
....not shane, he launched into a 2 minute smack assault that would have rivaled one of hitlers political speaches purely about the fact that *I* made him drop his ord. was one of the funiest moments in the game ive had.
the 'top of thier game' smack tards of this era are smack tard Grade B Newskool material.
the finest ever Smack tard grade B of this era was WindX/Noogie. perfectly nice and friendly guy to me for the most part, but when he got set into his smack it didnt matter how wrong he was he wouldnt admit defeat. quite outstanding. kind of like the kid who just wont accept hes lost a school yard fight and just keeps runnning back in to get laid out again.

This is true. AH is the most 'supportive' and 'friendly' online 'community' I have come across. There will always be knobs who make it less enjoyable, but for the most part the people who play this game are great.
I'm noticing this more and more as I get better at all of this.
For all the cheaters, ace pilots and Ho'ers as well as all the smack-talking lamers, this game still has a great set of people playing.
I don't fly with the knights or the rooks much, but I know that the Bish are a supportive bunch of lads who a usualy willing to help out even the most annoying n00bs.
I'm sure it's much the same on the other two countries.

I don't mind helping n00bs, but when I am in the MA. If they continually ask questions, or become annoying and excessing, I WILL squelch them. I spent 45 minutes in the TA, and was already in Nazgul when I started. I RARELY asked a single question, I did NOT read the manual. I applied common sense and just upped a 38. Flew it around, and got to know the flight characteristics.
I did NOT impune on country text asking "HOW DO I START MY ENGINE!" IMO, if you have to type that, GTF out of the MA. If I'm a "knob" for feeling that way, then so be it. I don't care because Channel 6 is there, and is hardly EVER USED.

LOL those are the best , the online option should be greyed out until they have flown offline for a few sorties, or have gone to the training arena .

Agreed. How anyone can muster up the balls to fly in the MA without first flying offline to familiarize, then got to TA for a bit to get used to flying with others is beyond me.
New flayers should have to log a minimum # of hrsin the TA before MA becomes available. IMO.
Lately the number of unsolicited join requests has become bothersome. At least that screen blocker that used to come up is gone.

but hmm,, being a smack tard really isnt all that great, mainly due to the lousey opposition.
Ouch! I feel really bad... because, just when I decided to play your game for a while and was about to reply to your ST, I lost UDP, got discoed and decided I had enough for that night...! :D Too bad I discovered this thread only now! :lol
Btw, you were tedious because your ST was clearly faked and lacked the necessary anger and frustration, that's it... you can't fake them, you have to be really pissed off to ST well! ;D
Anyway, our community is not bad at all, and I like to listen at channel 200... most of the times you'll find people who are just bantering and teasing each others all in good humor and when some tard starts the ST, I just ignore text buffer and concentrate on the outside "world" (that's when my SA improves... :D). As 38ruk said, channel 200 it what gives the game its community dimension: I'm not gonna lose it only for some STMTs! Amen.
Dichotomy, thanks for the pictures, they're great, especially the one Parin used later! :)
anyone who doesnt think well of themself in thier own mind surely would achieve nothing!
"confidence is a preference" (*di-da di-da di- da*"park life")
:huh That's why I suck in both real and virtual life..... :cry :cry :cry

LOL. You must think very highly of yourself to believe you are some kind of slang trend setter or have you forgotten this is a game populated largely by adults and not a lunch room for 8th graders?
The only person I've seen utter "twit", with any regularity is you. Besides, it' s not like you invented the word.
The self promotion thing works on some people though. 68rox is ready to kneel and do your bidding. For your sake, I hope he doesn't have braces.

.squelch STMT.

BTW. Hornet33 is one of the class acts in AHII. Now Vertex is added to my list. Good to see proper behavior in here.:aok

Gee, sorry Gianlupo...
The overseas rights for SkyRock (TM), LLC USA have been negotiated and won by Lusche-Gmhb, BRD of the Federal Republic of Germany, as of 03/01/2007 at a franchise auction.
I'm sorry you missed that in the Wall Street Journal that day (page 2, column 4) with the photo of SkyRock posing in front of the Cotton Exchange on The Beale in Memphis.
He would have undercut your bid anyway...he gets 8.5%.
While the DOW takes a 250 pt nosedive today...SkyRock (TM) LLC, is UP 5 to 44.50. Investors are selling other shares to BUY!
BTW: I settled for 12.5%, and an invested cut in the Pacific Rim holdings.
