Title: New Daylight Savings Time Patch from MS.
Post by: Sincraft on March 07, 2007, 10:00:11 PM
If you don't already know, daylight savings time will start 3 weeks earlier and last 1 week longer from now on.  Energy savings program by the guberment.

Windows XP systems will report time incorrectly, possibly causing issues for some people (OH NO the world is going to end!) :)

To resolve:
Go here:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cp_dst

Select what you are (make it easy and just pick home user)
Select your OS (not sure?  Right click on my computer, click on properties, at the top of the page it will tell you what version OS you have, and if you have SP1 or SP2 installed)
Click the download link in the middle of the page, and run it.

No reboot required but I always suggest so after a patch at your conv.

MS can't get daylight savings right in the first place, so I disabled it. I set mine manually.

Also, if you have Windows Automatic Updates turned on (and you really should), then you already received this patch on or about Feb 17, 2007.

You can see if you got it by looking at your Add/Remove Programs Control Panel and see if you have the updated "KB931836"

Of course, we're talking about Windows XP SP2...

Cheers!

Yup, if you're a XP/Desktop guy, its a cinch

We had to use that tool for a few systems at the office.  The NT ones have to be done manually.
